Carawine Gorge is a remote bush camp located about 160 km from Marble Bar.It is just off of, the Ripon Hill Road, near the Woodie Woodie Mine.A 13km drive will get you into the camping areas along the river.Recommended 4WD and with off road campers and caravans only. There are several soft spots along the gorge, pebbles are very deep as the whole area floods. It is even difficult to walk in some areas. You will be rewarded with great wildlife, fishing, and best of all- peace and quiet, all while sitting around your campfire. There are no facilities here, so you will have to bring all supplies in with you. There is some firewood in the local area, although it is best to collect it, along the way.Alternatively, a great 4WD journey awaits from Nullagine along Skull springs road to Carawine gorge if you choose to do so.We even saw a couple of "dirt road" caravans along the this tighter way. There are several stops, views and excellent photographic experiences along this unconventional route, but is definitely worth it.
