The Harvey Dam is a beautiful picturesque area with wonderful views and lovely gardens with a family area. I would recommend this as a nice family stop when traveling through Harvey.

A great place to walk or have a picnic. The amphitheatre area is grassed, very clean, has public toilets and drink fountain, free gas bbq's and children's playground. Beautiful walkways up to the top of the wall of the dam, then you can walk over the wall and back down to picnic area. Dam can also be accessed after crossing wall. Alternatively, you can drive a couple of kms further and get to the boat ramp or a variety of other areas accessible by most vehicles for a more private area.Best of all, dogs allowed in all areas. Note no powered boats allowed on dam excepting electric motors.

Nice walks, dam view and picnic/bbq facilities. Clean toilets. Although plenty of shade it gets very hot in Harvey and there is not much relief from the heat . Would suggest early morning or late afternoon for get togethers.

This amphitheatre was brilliant - the area surrounding is also just as good. It was a shame we did not get to see a show at the amphitheatre. We were only there for a short time and it was the end of the day so did not get to use the facilities.

Definitely worth adding to your itinerary for a day out in Harvey. The amphitheatre is at the bottom of the Harvey Dam. There are toilets, seats, BBQ's alongside the waterway. Well maintained gardens. Don't miss the walk along the Dam.

I just love this place. It's so relaxing to walk around the pool under the trees - I like to stop & look for marron under the bridge, or just have a seat on a bench or even the grass & take in the tranquillity. If you're up for a bit of a walk, you can take the stairs to the top of the dam wall, across, then back down the road/driveway. The barbecue facilities and gazebos are also very good. We don't yet have kids so can't speak from experience, but the playground looks good. I'm looking forward to being able to see a performance at the lovely amphitheatre. While maybe not the most exciting place in the south west, it's a lovely peaceful spot to have a barbie & spend a couple of pleasant hours.

Harvey dam makes for a lovely little day out, the gardens and really pretty and kept, and there are tonnes of butterflies flying around and settling on the bushes, never seen anything like it. The dam itself is quite a view, we got some really pretty pictures of the sun setting over the water.

Good place to admire the view of the dam and the garden around the amphitheatre. Wind was very strong at the dam, kept the flies away.

we've been to Harvey Dam several times now, what draws us back is the natural beauty that surrounds the man-made dam. there's a small stream that runs through the BBQ area, which is quite relaxing and allows our kids explore and play near its bank.there's also a look-out station at the top of the hill, which will give you the sprawling view of the catchment area. its was beautiful!

Harvey is a hidden gem about 1 hour south-east of Mandurah WA. The drive is very picturesque and the town of Harvey so quaint. We had our picnic with us and were delighted to find the Dam area to enjoy it. Very clean with nice facilities and surroundings...a good place to stretch our legs before we explored the town.

We visited briefly, and were impressed by its free BBQ pits that were newly installed. No booking required to use them. The amphitheatre was small as they go, but situated next to a dam with amazing views.

It was a nice place to stop and stetch my legs after pizza for lunch in Harvey. Plenty of parking and easy access to the dam wall. Harvey is about and hour and half from the city so was a great distance for a day trip from Perth.
