He has one 'brand' under his name which is particularly impressive and certainly this name is regarded as a 'household' name and also an Australian icon.We had a conversation which during he asked me " what is your selling technique, how do you market and sell your wine?".I was a little star struck at the time; so my answer was ENTIRELY honest :)I told him this, " when you pour a glass of wine for some one, and offer them a warm smile, it is very hard not to become friends".Barrecas Wines backs up service with a quality product always. Behind the cellar door bar, where the real action happens you'll find state of the art bottling and wine making equipment and technique working and taking place on an internationally recognised level. I had a bottle just before Xmas and couldn't believe how good it tasted. This winery is one of those little gems you find while travelling the Australian countryside and Kelly is one of those people who you feel privileged to have met. I would describe the wine and Kelly in the same words. Generous, honest and full of character ... and you could easily while-away a whole day with both of them :)

This was the one cellar door we visited while visiting friends in the Donnybrook area.Wonderful wine, great welcome by Kelly, now enjoying wine we bought.After 15 mins in Kelly's company we felt like old friends. One place not to miss if in the area.

A wonderful winery producing fantastic no frills wines at excellent value. We visited on recommendation from a friend and it was worth every km getting there! Fil and Kelly are so welcoming and the whole experience was great. I'm glad I don't live nearby or I'd be there all the time! If you're doing the Margaret River wineries do yourself a favour and take a detour to Donnybrook to visit Barrecas.

We were bemoaning the lack of gutsy reds and our host directed us to Barrecas Winery - what can I say but thank you! The wines are Italian style, up front and gorgeously mouth-filling; the winery itself is very pretty; Kelly at the cellar door is generous, friendly and knowledgeable. The entire experience was wonderful and the wines we bought certainly did not disappoint. We will be back ... soon.

Love coming in to restock on their amazing wine! Skip Margaret River and come here, better value and far better in taste. Fil and Kelly are so friendly, I think I could stay and talk to Kelly all day. Love this winery!

We call in to Barrecas every chance we get. Fil and Kell are super friendly and we feel like old friends each time we visit. We really like the wines - they have a great range of red and white, with the regular varieties and some out of the ordinary. The prices make the wine great value for money. We strongly recommend a visit if you are heading past.

Barreca's Winery is a 'must stop' if you are on the South West Highway traveling south towards Balingup, Pemberton, Denmark etc. They have a range of wines to suit most palates and are really well priced, Grab a carton or even half a dozen and get quality wine at budget prices. They do coffee and olive oil too and you get to chat with the winemaker. Try to make time to stop and enjoy the serenity from the cellar door verandah, it is worth it!

We live in Bunbury and head down to Barrecas Winery often. The wine is very pleasing and the low preservative content makes it possible for me to feel well after having a wine with dinner. The owners look after you and they are a delightful family. Do yourself a favour and call in on your way south, you will not be disappointed.

We decided to pop into a winery while in the area, and so pleased that we chose Barrecas. Excellent wines and port, and good prices. Where do they sell in Perth, I wonder. We'll be back.

Easy to find with the friendly of service. Taste a few wines and be surprised by the very reasonable prices.

This winery was a recommendation from a couple who had just Ben there and purchased some Shiraz. We weren't disappointed. The guy at the door was an absolute delight and full of information. It was obvious he loves what he does and the wine tasting was a delight. We left with a couple of carton and a promise to return. If visiting Denmark make sure you don't miss this winery in your travels!

We stayed for a few nights in Balingup on our trip to the southwest and the welcome gift in our chalet was a bottle of Barrecas Shiraz Malbec 2012 which was terrific, so much so that we decided to visit the winery and that was the lucky stopover in the title.Kelly at the cellar door is a delightful, friendly and knowledgeable young woman who makes everyone feel welcome, a better 'front of house' person I couldn't imagine. We bought 2 cases on the initial visit and returned this week for a further 4 cases. The 2012 vintage is almost exhausted so if you fancy a beautifully rounded red at a very good price, be quick.
