This may be biased given we had perfect weather but this was a truly lovely walk. We started with early lunch at Red Beard Bakery in Trentham then had a good look around the station before heading off on foot for Lyonville. The trail began in sun but soon was a cool, shaded and very beautiful path through gorgeous forest. We packed water and an apple but were delighted to find the Radio Springs Hotel in Lyonsville where we enjoyed a cool drink (a little on the expensive side perhaps but worth it for the sit and entertaining service in this quaint pub). About an hour 10 walk for us each way and well worth the time and effort on clearly marked and very pretty paths.

This a great and easy walk, whether you have brunch in Trentham or lunch in Lionsville. Park at Lionsville at the Hotel and walk the Domino trail to Trentham ( or visa versa), breakfast at Redbeard bakery is great, walk back to Lionville and a few beers or wine at the Radio Springs Hotel tops a great day with exercise in the mix. The walk takes you through beautiful Wombat forest amongst the gums and fresh air. Takes about 1 hour each way!
