I love the fact that this period mansion has been preserved for future generations, the gardens are beautiful its a lovely place to take visiting friends and family.

Scary place with an undertone of sadness. Don't go here, it seems to have a history of bad times even though the Ashes Cricket urn originated here.

For some reason this venue steeped in history has been closed down and the contents sold off by the building owners. This is a piece of Victoria's history lost after so much work, effort, time and money had been spent by many people to preserve this unique building only to be seemingly ignored by the owners and the building closed to the public. I am disgusted by this attitude.

Fabulous meal. Everything was done to make this night special .. Food was great with a lot of choices even for gluten free. Quite expensive but for a special occasion it was fine.

This building is very grand and steeped in history but as a hotel did not meet my basic needs. Not to be used if you don't have a car, as it is 800metres from the main road, unlit with no real walking path. There are no eating facilities within the 'Mansion', only weddings & functions are catered for. I had to arrange for outside food delivery for dinner one night & didn't eat the other. The 'desk' is only manned within busy hours 9-5, the entrance was not open on my arrival, I wondered around with my suitcase looking for a way in.The rooms are unique with antques but weren't designed for comfort, no clock or radio, or place to sit or work. The bedroom door only closed if I used the key. The 'kitchen' was along the landing for making tea/coffee but with no sink, I had to go back & forth to my room to fill the kettle etc.Being there for business & leaving each morning at 8am,I asked if breakfast provisions could be supplied. The TV was acessible one night in the library, when not being used a lecture room.I was the only paying quest, alone in a huge mansion,Not a place to stay if you are on business or for that matter for pleasure.Tip-no alcohol allowed
