Had a family lunch here and it was lovely....we sat inside in a cosy room of the converted house...my Beef Shiraz Pie was amazing and very very tasty..the Scones chosen by others were enormous...one downfall was we had to ask for more Jam as it only served one Scone not Two...otherwise all was lovely and Service was with a Smile....

A nice old bakery with outdoor seating and take away. A little expensive, although very good food. Great on a sunny morming for coffee.

Having lived in the area for many years, it has been an oversight that I had not tried the Mernda Bakery for a sit down lunch before. They have new owners, and their lunch menu was excellent. We sat outside in the sunshine, but inside the old bakery they have private rooms set up. I went with a group of friends and we decided on the spot to book for a Xmas luncheon there and cancel our previous booking at another restaurant. The owner said he would be doing a special Xmas menu. Very nice ambiance.

Very pleasantly surprised. Had heard about the cafe and decided to try it for myself. Lovely courtyard garden setting with plenty of seats and cosy rooms inside for eating also. My meal was delicious and I dragged it out by drinking an extra cup of coffee.Staff were very friendly and welcoming and because it was later in the afternoon very chatty.A delightful experience that I would repeat.Also got food to take home for dinner on this visit.

Was here for lunch with a group and we had a room to ourselves. Have been here before for lunch.Food was great and the setting so nice with an open fire. Only a small cafe so you would need to book as it is usually full.

We were lucky to catch the "chef" when he had 5 minutes to show off his wood fired Scotch oven. An amazing 130 year old oven that can hold 150 loaves of bread in one hit! Fired early each morning with dry timber it was still very hot when we explored it at 3 pm! The story behind the bakery and its recent "rescue" is fascinating.
