There's a long grassy, treed foreshore along the southern edge of Colac's huge Lake Colac. You reach it by going along Gellibrand St from the main shopping strip on Murray St. In the early evening we enjoyed eating at one of the table and bench combos. There are electric bbqs, toilets and parking. Upslope behind you are the Botanic Gardens. And in front of you is the lake (hopefully with water in it -- it does dry up in times of drought) and the walking and cycling trail. Enjoy.
