Had a laugh with Greg the "brewer" and enjoyed tastings of ginger beer whilst Steve sampled various beers. I love Victoria and this is a great example of "take us as we come". Small place within a pub with nothing else around for miles. Keep an open mind and enjoy.

This place is promoted by local tourism as part of a Farm Gate Trail. All I can say is they must think people are easily pleased. Why would anyone want to drive to the middle of nowhere for a drink in a tired old pub with a few old locals propping up the bar.If this is country Victoria's idea of a tourist 'attraction' they need to get out more.

Whilst driving around Rutherglen we saw a sign, Buffalo Brewery. We, that's the closest we got to seeing the actual brewery, we found, many kilometres down the road, a Pub. Didn't see the brewery (was "out the back"), but experienced the beer. Ok, but not really worth the drive and not a lot of love there to attract future tasters.

stopped here as part of farm gate driving tour after the excellent Renaissance Chocolates. Rustic is one word for the buffalo brewery I guess. No tastings on offer you had to buy a pot of micro brewery beer or Carlton (?). There were four on offering including ginger beer. I tried the wheat beer was just about the worst beer I have EVER had. Being a home brewer myself, and having tasted a beer or two, this drop completly ruined my palate for any subsequent wine tasting that day. Don't stop in thinking you'll get a counter meal either. In fact don't stop.

I think the 26/10/13 review sums it up. That said the beer we tried was ok but the (alcoholic) ginger ale was great. It's a fair way off the highway so I strongly suggest you visit when the chocolate place which is only a few minutes drive away is open, so to make it worthwhile. The lady owner looked after us nicely.

Arrived expecting to find a working brewery or some sort of tour, only to find an old pub selling beer with no brewery in sight. Don't bother.
