The drive to Mt Nathan Winery was very pleasant and the winery itself is quite small but pleasant. My husband and I used a Living Social deal which brought us to the winery. The deal was a wine tour with a platter of cheese and crackers. We didn't actually get a wine tour, we were told that we could walk the grounds and go look at the animals in the field below which was a nice country atmosphere but not what we expected, we expected an actual wine tour. We were then told to go into a room where a man started to give us a wine tasting which was very informative and some of the wines were quite good. The cheese platter was two different cheeses and a few crackers, nothing elaborate. There was a bit of pressure at the end of the tasting to buy their wines and it was a bit uncomfortable as we were the only people there which they called a private tasting. We felt a bit ripped off when we left as there was no actual wine tour and in Australia wine tasting at a winery is free. I gave them a rating of 3 only because the man gave us some interesting information about wines.I probably would not return to this winery as I know there are others nearby that are a little more pleasant to view, picnic and nicer restaurants.
