From whiting, gar, and small bream and the odd predator on the first few hundred meters of the pier, to the pelagics at the end that want to test you and your fishing gear... one of several good spots for landbased fishing if you don't have a boat. Just remember to take water and sunscreen.. Can get warm out there

The pier is currently undergoing some restoration work but is still open along its length. Its quite historic and well worth a walk out to the end of it. There's always lots of people fishing from the pier and the views back inland are great.

Just a long pier of 880m out into the sea. Lovely walk but nothing on there and it is being renovated at the moment. Good views back to the land.

This is a very long pier - stretches out almost a km out into the water. It is a favourite place for locals and visitors alike to walk along and to fish from.Stop and gaze over the railings at the beautiful view. Quite often you can see para gliders as well. There are no amenities on the pier but at the beginning of it there are picnic areas, other walking areas, restaurants, hotels, fish and chips, toilets. This is a good venue for couples, families with young children, friends, solos, anyone really.

Urangan Pier is one of the best things of living in Hervey Bay. It is a refreshing experience going for a walk along the pier. Would try fishing Highly recommended.

This Pier has a fair bit of interesting history behind it . It's great for a visit anytime of the day , bit I particularly liked going there for an early morning stroll . Its current length is about 868m . The water is pretty clear , so I got to see some sting rays , crabs , lots of fish . Plenty of anglers trying their luck along the pier . The Pier is kept very clean , except for the parts where the anglers have been...that's where you find some of their bait strewn around....yuck! Otherwise well worth a stroll.

When we first drove past we took one look and thought 'no way' Then someone told us to ignore how it looked from the outside and give it a go. So, we did. WOW! Ok so inside is very dated and worn but the service was incredible and the seafood platter amazing. Don't judge this book by its cover.

A great view of Hervey bay from the water without a boat! It was being worked on during my visit but there was scaffolding to walk around the works and get to the end.

I went to the Pier for Sunrise and Sunset multiple times and got some very nice shots. If your a photographer and need a shoot, if your in the area, come down especially at sunset/sunrise. Photos won't disappoint!

Provide a very comfortable fishing platform. At such a great length, you have access to many different areas of fishing, targeting different species from whiting to large pelagic and sharks.Apart from fishing, many people take a nice stroll or bike ride along the pier.Only addition that would complete this attraction are garbage bins to be located throughout the pier.

Urangan Pier is fantastic - a great place to visit on our evening bikeride along the waterfront. Awesome views out to sea and back along the beach. They are doing some work upgrading it at the moment but still open to the public.

The pier jutting what seems like a couple of kilometres out into the sea is currently undergoing maintenance. Great views back to the shore. A favourite for fishermen and women - night or day. A local landmark.
