Enjoyed the tasting, and the maze was great fun!Shame there isn't a cafe there, although they have a limited selection of food

We headed to the winery on a rainy little day from South West Rocks. It was very easy to find, well sign posted. Had a lovely time sampling some great wines.Thoroughly enjoyed it, highly recommended.

There are several kms on a corrugated dirt road to get there but once you do, it's an oasis. The wines are great, the views over the valley are stunning and the staff extremely helpful.We haven't been to the maze, but we felt it was a little on the expensive side.

Should one write a review if never having been to the place? We tried! Not very well signposted up an unsealed road. Half way up the road we came across a digger repairing the road so did a U turn and went back. Must admit I did feel a bit cheated having read some of the reviews. Well try again next time we are in the district

A leisurely drive from Port Macquarie, you turn off to a well maintained unsealed road. We thought we had taken the wrong turn, however, the area is well sign posted. Turning into the estate there is an established vineyard amongst a rolling hill. we were greeted by friendly staff who provided us with wine tasting and proved to be knowledgable about the products she was serving. We purchased a couple of bottles of wine that we consumed that night - a nice drop indeed. The maze kept us occupied for quiet some time. As with the other reviews, picking a cooler day to tackle the maze is advisable. Quiet an enjoyable day

Bago is tucked away in a small valley, a few kilometres up a dusty road off Bago Road. It is absolutely worth the trip. They offer wine tasting and local cheese platters and there is a large lawn in front of a winery that whispers "picnic" every time you look at it. If weather is not great, there is a covered verandah with tables and chairs.The winery is dog-friendly and, being at the end of a small road, it is safe for dogs with no road sense.There is also has a decent-sized hedge maze where kids can get lost (literally) for a while. A bonus is that you can see into the maze from the grassy hill in front of the winery, so you may opt to shout misleading directions to your children to keep them in the maze a bit longer and buy yourself more wine-and-cheese time.Bago periodically has live music events, so check their website if you are interested, or want to visit on a peaceful day.Overall, we like Bago very much and visit every time we are in the area.

We visited on weekend, had a taste of a few wines , nice outlook over the vineyards and maze. Definitely returning on a not so hot day to play in the maze!

Yes it cost $7 per student but they said they liked it for some fun and it was quite a challenge (or luck) to get out, but there are exits if you get stuck. I would recommend going not on a hot day or go early as it gets very hot in the maze, and in cooler weather they could have spent a lot longer in the maze. It's only about 2km of dirt road on the turn off so just be patient. You can sit in the shade with your lunch or on the tables and chairs under the roof.

We were staying in Port Macquarie and saw the maze advertised and it was only about 30 minutes drive. The road to the vineyard and the maze is a dirt but in quite good condition and you drive through the mountain thinking how on earth is there a vineyard out here when, all of sudden you get there and the land has been cleared and it is very beautiful. You can see the maze from the top of the hill and the height is well over adult height which is deceiving from the distance. It costs $10.00 per adult to enter the maze and a few dollars less per child. The maze is harder than it looks and there are 2 towers to find along the way with animal figures to look out for as well. We didn't have any kids with us but enjoyed the maze and think it was very well done. After the maze ( or before ) you can taste the wines from a small collection and also enjoy a cheese and olive platter for $18.00 and sit back and enjoy the serenity on the large deck with comfy chairs. There is also a large grassed area that you can take your own picnic to enjoy and the toilets were very modern and clean.Bring a hat and bottled water as it gets hot in the maze.

Stopped in here on a road trip with my partner. We first went to conquor the maze. The maze was well maintained and a lot of fun. Perfect for kids, and even as adults we had fun. The winery staff give you a brochure with things to find in the maze. We went on an extremely hot day and recommend you take some water or a drink with you in the maze. Once we finished the maze we enjoyed tasting the bago sparkling. Was perfect for the weather. The staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our visit.

The dusty track to this vineyard winds through the state forest and arrives at a lush, green oasis in the bush. Well kept lawns allow for picnics and lazy afternoons while the maze will keep you looking around the next corner.We liked their red wines and enjoyed a cheese platter under a shady umbrella while listening to the live music. A great find, we'll be back regularly.

When I think of Jazz and Wine I conjure up a great time. When I checked out the 'What's on in Port Macquarie' section in a booklet it said exact those two words. Jazz, Wine. The drive from Port to Wauchope is good, followed the well appointed signage to Bago Winery. The last section is in the forest and the road is graded gravel. Entry for the once a month event is $5 per person, kids under 5 free. As we drove up a highlight of red umbrellas was visible as were a considerable number of parked cars. Parked we alighted and began walking down to the winery entertainment area.'Was that Jazz?' My wife and I looked at each other as expectations dissolved. Now I'm going to be a bit critical here. To me the vibe and atmosphere had the presence of entertainment at an aged facility, albeit a good quality establishment.After a break the musicians lifted the bar a bit but ( for us) the damage was done.As for the wines, there were many punters that appeared to love it however my palate didn't find any joy in the fare. Good to see different varietals being grown however my money remained in my wallet.

We went here on the 2nd Sunday of the month which happened to be Jazz Sunday. For $5 each we were able to get in, listen to relaxing jazz while our kids explored the awesome maze included in the price.They loved it so much they went through 3 times. The wine tasting was good and we had a nice picnic of our own lunch on the extensive lawn.Warning: Google maps only directs you to the side road and then it is a further 10 minute drive down a reasonable dirt road to the vineyard through eucalypt forest. But worth it in the end!!!

We to first thought the entry price to the maze was a little steep, but it was definitely worth it. The children and the adults both had a great time trying to find our way out. The kids especially enjoyed finding the hidden items throughout the maze.Once you conquer the maze, definitely try their delicious red wines, we walked away with a box full. Such a great little find and a lovely morning out and about. Owners are very friendly also.
