We visited this campground on a Thursday and Friday night stay in early November and we had the entire grounds to ourselves. It has compost toilets and basic shower facilities, campfire rings and lots of space. It has a few covered picnic table shelters and good flat grass covered camp sites. I came specifically for the purpose of using my telescope for astronomy seeking a non powered dark site far from bright city lights and it did not disappoint. It is not too far from the town of Texas for any supplies you might need. On my last day there I climbed the impressive Goat Rock which is easy to do and was rewarded with amazing views of the surrounds. The animal life always give you something to watch, plenty of it. Well worth a visit if you are passing through this region.

We visited in Winter so the area was pretty much deserted except for a few camper vans. I suspect it would be more lively otherwise and the camping facilities look good. Main attraction for us was climbing Goat Rock and having a look out over the horizon to see Texas nearby. The ascent is easy and is only about 50m from flat ground. Makes for some nice photos. The road to get there from Texas is not sealed so be careful of rocks flung up by passing cars.
