To be up close to all the 'stuff' that is displayed there is great. Obliging and helpful volunteers to answer any queries.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Tenterfield Railway Museum - congratulations to all the volunteers who have made this possible for all to enjoy. Well worth the entry fee. Absolutely loved strolling around, in and out of restored carriages, imagining how life once was... no need to be a railway enthusiast to enjoy - something for everyone here... only thing missing was a little café... but that doesn't detract from all the displays.

What a find and absolute delight to climb over rail carriages and explore a a disused railway station. Beautifully maintained and very affordable, this stop is a must for the rail enthusiast or anyone wishing to revisit the past.

$7.50 well spent, the station itself has been beautifully renovated by volunteers who run the site, Don't forget to find the miniature rail display and the volunteers are a wealth of information so talk to them.

The Railway Museum is located only a couple of kilometres from the centre of town. There is a range of memorabilia both inside and around the property. The station building has old heritage displays, memorabilia and artefacts, in all the rooms, which includes a lot of photography.Volunteers can take you on a guided tour throughout all the rooms, exhibitions and explain in more detail, the history of the railway. There are some nice gardens too. Well worth a visit at only the $6 entry fee.

If you are a train buff I would recommend allowing up to two hours visiting the museum. If you aren't a huge train fan the place is still worth a visit but an hour would allow you to see everything. The station itself is a beautiful building and it's worth a visit just to see it. You can walk through many of the carriages and sit in the drivers seat. A model train layout is a replica of the station itself, lovely details. The volunteers were helpful and friendly. Bring cash for entry, drinks & souvenirs as there is no eftpos at the museum.

This is a must see when in Tenterifield as the Museum is full of history and memorability. Great for the family.

Tenterfield has a lot of history and while we were only in transit, thought we should see something of the area's history. Have known of it for Henry Parkes and Peter Allan but given the importance of rail in this country, this seemed an appropriate museum. Haven't really used trains for such a long time but this brought back memories of how I used to enjoy train travel when young.

i would recommend the RailwayMuseum to everyone.Children need to see what helped build this nation and to see how difficult it was for the builders and workers on these huge public infrastructure projects.

I loved being able to walk through the train carriages, the passenger trains taking me back to my childhood. Great collection of everyday items such as old train tickets, canvas mail bags and uniforms and many other pieces. We saw a family of three generations with a toddler and all were enthralled by the huge model railway ! Staff were friendly and happy to let us wander at our own pace.

At first when we visited the museum it appeared to be typical of railway museums. However I found it quite interesting when we went outside of the main buildings to see carriages loaded with a variety of other transport vehicles. The shed also had items I had not seen before. I also enjoyed walking through the carriages and looking at the displays.

Well preserved and a shame it's not still operating as a station, but the members of the Historical Society have done a good job of the whole set up.Swags of history, as in the rest of Tenterfield.

Perfectly presented with all the old charm of yesteryear railway system. Plenty of displays to enter and peruse at your leisure. Friendly volunteers to inform you of every aspect of the station museum.

Unfortunately we arrived a bit too close to closing time to enter the museum, so we could only see the outside. The grounds are clean and tidy, and there is plenty of parking. We took photographs of the kids outside on some of the old engines (diesel and steam) and peered over the fence at some of the rolling stock. Definitely a place we would like to return to to explore further.
