Hard to beat a lookout. Nice short drive and a great view at the top. Bit of history there with some signage. Nice picnic area and a few birds around too. A pleasant place for a diversion.

Lovely park, the picnic areas would be great in nice weather, and the views were fantastic. I love seeing parks like this that have been the result of years of voluntary work by local "friends" groups - well done!

The best way to get from Mittagong to Bowral (or vice versa) is to take the Tourist Drive out of town via the Lookout Mountain Drive. You have Mount Jellore Lookout over Mittagong & then the Bowral Lookout over Bowral and environs. They were built as work programs during the depression years and have now been tarted up a bit. The whole area is a good & fairly easy walking track & the lookouts give a great view of the surrounding area. Stay for a picnic or for a 20 minute diversion en-route to your destination , your choice !! Enjoy !
