Check the location of this lighthouse as the map for here is not correct. Plan to leave Eden by at least 2pm if you intend catching the tour which is only at 3 pm. See pic of time and prices. We found this road very good in a 4WD but watch for some deep potholes at times. Well worth the drive. Check out Boyd's Tower and the location of the Old Whaling Station as well. All good drives.

This was my favourite spot out of our whole holiday, we traveled up and down the south coast and found this place, bit of a hike to get there but well worth the drive!!!

We went here last December 2014 on our way to Melbourne. The unpaved road took us almost 30 minutes drive. On the road going to the lighthouse we came across snakes and a lot of monitor lizards! But they are not scary though. My kids were so fascinated seeing this wildlife in their natural habitat. When we got to the lighthouse, the views were incredible, we don't want to leave!

Saw seals and amazing coastal scenery. There is a series of easy walks through the heath, with lots of huge Goannas around.

At the end of Ben Boyd National Park is Green Cape Lighthouse. A well formed dirt road leads in from the highway making it accessible for most vehicles. Great information is provided on the site history, famous shipwrecks, and how it was built. Picturesque on a clear day with views down to Womboyn Lake & Disaster Bay. Can get very windy though. 3pm daily Lighthouse Tours available. $7 per day National Park fee, but gets you access to all beaches etc.

What a great little spot of history this is. Would be awesome to stay in the cottage, although it would need to be for serious relaxation. Quite windy, but it was sunny and warm.

A longish drive on dirt roads. Well worth the visit. Make sure you have a valid National Parks and Wildlife Service Parks Pass, or you will need to pay for entry (an honesty system using envelopes and secure boxes). Can be windy and watch out for snakes in the warmer months. Lots of active Wombat skat, so tread warily. Check with NPWS if you want to stay as this may be possible (unconfirmed at the time of this review). A trip worth taking just for the spectacular views..

Great history of lighthouse, still being maintained, history of ships wrecks and persons (Free entry) seeing some of the most treacherous coastline.

Bit of a rough drive but defiantly worth the view, we could even see whales out in the ocean!! The lighthouse keeper was very helpful with information regarding lighthouse and surrounds.

It is quite a long drive in on a windy gravel road but definitely worth the drive to see the lighthouse and all the other viewing sites along the way. Photography is a major hobby for my partner and I so my reviews will always be influenced by how good the photography opportunities are. The starkness of the white lighthouse and the other white buildings with their blue trim against the different blue of the sky was a real joy to see.

An amazing view and really feel part of a wild coast with waves crashing on rocks below. The only problem is the cost of the park fees in the national park

A very nice view from the lighthouse to both the north and south. A good dirt road gives easy access. Plenty of history to learn.

We visited the Green Cape Lighthouse after stopping at Disaster Bay Lookout. It was such a chilly day, the wind was screaming through the lighthouse lookout so we stood still to take in the gorgeous view, and to grab a few photos for memories and then dashed back to the Car.On the way back to the Car my youngest son had fun playing hide and seek with us, playing a troll under the bridge!!I would have loved to stand still long enough to read the history of the Lighthouse but the wind was too much, we watched others arrive and turn away before reaching the Lighthouse due to the cold weather.Next time we visit we would like to take winter jackets with us, as well as beanies and scarfs :)Also another tip is to wear long pants with socks and shoes to make the walk from the car park to the light house more enjoyable, especially because Eden weather can turn cold very quickly.

When I visited this place, I was lucky to see whales passed. Some of them were very actives as they jumped out from the water
