Hellyers Road make a range of single malt whiskeys with some aged in different types of oak. I found the one aged in pinot nior casks to be the best. Tastings are $4 each, with 3 whiskeys plus a liqueur and bread for $11 which was good value. I found that Hellyers Road was better value than Lark.

We visit the restaurant frequently for lunch and are guaranteed a tasty meal.We have also attended a couple of evening functions where the quality continues Well recommended for lunch or afternoon tea with beautiful views over the valley

Mike led a small fun and informative tour and tasting session followed by the chance to bottle our own whisky (of course we did!).We had a late lunch at the cafe and wow, what delicious food. This is a a great tour, great lunch destination and the staff are outstanding.

Yeah ok ok.... if you were right into whisky I guess you might find this tour interesting. Personally, once is more than enough for this tour. It was simply Boring! The high rating is due to the restaurant!! Food is amazing.

We paid $17 pp for the distillery tour expecting tastings of products would be included. .vodkas, scotch and whisky cream. We were offered only one tasting of scotch. Very disappointed. To taste these was another $2 per taste on top of what we had already paid. I had made a booking for lunch also but left without eating such was my feeling of being ripped off.

Hellyers Road Distillery is set in a beautiful landscape with beautiful views. The restaurant has great food (I recommend the tasting plate for two) and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and it is a great place to spend time having a long lunch. In comparison to the restaurant, the tour was a bit of a letdown. The tour takes place in two rooms and, while informative, is a bit dull. Trying the whisky is a perk but you really don’t get to see much of anything. I highly recommend the restaurant but would only recommend the tour if you want to bottle your own whisky, otherwise I’d give it a miss.

We were taken upstairs and bottled our own whiskey straight from the cask. We were given a certificate of authenticity to say it was Certified Distiller's Choice from cask number .. and bottle number .. The food in the restaurant is always the highest quality and very reasonably priced. Huge outdoor lawns for the children to run. A great place for all of the family to enjoy some of Burnie's best food and whiskey.

Very interesting tour, lovely restautant/cafe and beautiful Burnie Setting. Tour only about 40 mins with a tasting and talk about product. Informative with very passionate staff.

We only had one dish, so we can't comment on the full menu, but the steak burger we had had a 'whiskey chutney' in it that gave the burger a strong alcohol taste. I know it's a whiskey distillery, so it's quite reasonable for them to use whiskey in their cooking, but it just didn't taste good, having a burger with that much uncooked whiskey in it.

We landed in Burnie for a day with a cruise. The town put on a great welcome for all the cruise passengers and there was no need to book a tour from the ship as the ones put on from the Information centre are great. We went to the Distillery on the hop on hop off tour and loved the building. We had the whiskey tasting plate and it was great value and lots of fun. The room was very beautifully laid out and the staff very friendly.

We had a great coffee here and then some tastings from the Whisky they produce. You also have the Opportunity to check out how they make it. Fantastic views, you can sit and relax and a cute little Shop. Well worth a visit...

The road view of Hellyar's Road Distillery off Surrey Road doesn't give much away but tucked in behind an unremarkable industrial frontage next to a dairy factory is a brilliant new interpretive centre, tasting area and restaurant. At first glance the liquor prices are expensive but we are talking about a premium drop and as good a scotch whisky you'll find anywhere. Would I go back there? Yes, to get more whisky. But luckily I don't have to make the pilgrimage to Tasmania every time the bottle runs dry because Dan Murphy stocks it and you can order on line if you are that way inclined. Well worth the visit.
