We were on our way to Cape Jervis for the night before heading to Kangaroo Island. It was getting late and so we stopped at Yankalilla Hotel for dinner. What a great menu! It was hard to choose just one thing. I had an amazing soft shelled crab and squid stir fry....not only generous in size but so tasty and perfectly balance with some asian greens and rice noodles. Definitely recommend this place as a meal stop for anyone traveling in this region :)

I wonder if this should be listed under restaurants? Anyway had lunch here - an Asian pull apart baguette each - yummy. Excellent service. My only quibble is that they have permanently opened the door to the pokies, so you can hear them and see them. If they closed the door, the dining room would be improved. We loved the old chairs there as well.

It was Schnitzel Night (Thursday night) when we happened to visit the Yankalilla Hotel. My husband and I enjoyed chicken and beef parmigiana schnitels served with hot chips and salad for $11.00 each. The meat was tender and the servings were generous. We really enjoyed the meals and the service was friendly. The locals must enjoy Schnitzel Night too as the restaurant was full. We were glad that we made a reservation when we were driving past the night before. A great budget meal!

Had a chicken schnitzel which was really good. The restaurant was not busy but we were there rather late for dinner. Everything on the menu seemed to be reasonably priced compared to other pubs I've been to.
