Thoroughly enjoyed our day tour with Chooka visiting several boutique wineries. We were welcomed at each cellar door by friendly staff with informative and interesting local knowledge of the McLaren Vale area. A tasty lunch was supplied and we were fortunate to meet with Mrs Chooka and Chooka Senior. A very relaxing day that we would thoroughly recommend to anyone who enjoys good wine. Thanks Chooka for leaving us with a good holiday memory

We were lucky enough to have Chook himself chauffer us on his tour. He has great local knowledge of the area and tailored the tour to suit our individual tastes. He has a great sense of humour and was great company for the day. We visited a number of different wineries including some of the smaller boutique wineries and some beer tasting at lunch. We had a most enjoyable day and would thoroughly recommend it. We will be calling him again next time we are in town!

We were staying in Mclaren Vale over Christmas and called Chook for a taxi service to & from our lunch at D'arenberg. Chook was excellent to deal with and really lovely. Great value too - approx $40 return for 2 of us. We had considered organising a taxi but had been told they are incredibly unreliable in the area and Uber doesn't exist there (maybe Chook should even consider signing up to be an Uber driver as I'm sure there would be a big market there!). If you are staying in the area and feel like a few drinks with your meal and don't want to worry about being over the limit - hire Chook!!

We have utilised Chooks services on two occasions whilst visiting the area, both times we have had a very good experience. From the ease of booking to the reliable collection, friendly drivers and comfortable clean busses, this is indeed a worthwhile experience. On our visit earlier this month, we did a wine tour with friends and requested our first stop be the markets so we could stock up on local produce. Certainly worth the effort. Small wineries, nice lunch at the Barn, all in all a really good day.

Came over from Sydney and went on a tour last Monday with friends from Adelaide. Had a fantastic time. Got the VIP treatment the whole way. The only way to tour the wineries. Highly recommended

The van arrived 5 minutes early to pick our party up - the driver very friendly and willing to 'seatbelt' the all important birthday cake. Likewise they were a little early to pick us up, again friendly and helpful. The vehicle was very clean. Changes to numbers using this service were met with a friendly response. We will use again.

Chook's Little Winery Tours are an excellent way to explore the best wineries of McLaren Vale. A friendly, fun and informative tour by locals who know the region. Pick up from Adeladie very simple. A short 45 minutes later, we were in McLaren Vale tasting some great wines from vineyeards that suited our interests. The shiraz at Angoves was particularly good. Just let Mr or Mrs Chook know what you like and they'll take care of the rest. Lunch at the Barn restaurant was fantastic too. I particularly enjoyed the steak and friendly service.Tasting wine from a barrel at Danshi, not generally open to the public, was a fantastic experience - as were all of the wineries. I loved having a gossip with the local wine makers too.An exceptional day and very reasonably priced too.

Thanks to Chook's Little Winery Tours, a two day work conference began in the best possible way - with a thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour of some of the lesser known McLaren Vale wineries. As the wine flowed, work colleagues soon became friends and it was genuinely a disappointment when it was time to board the bus back to Adelaide again. Chook is a fabulous and knowledgeable host who puts the needs of his clients first. Thoroughly recommended.

The difference with Chook's tour is he takes you to a few smaller wine producers. You meet the wine makers, who are down to earth people who simply love what they do. We loved Stevens Winery where you met Graham Stevens and his lovely daughter (sorry I can't remember your name and you were so friendly and beautiful). These wines were made for my palate - we ordered a case. Next was Dog Ridge which is a wonderful wine tasting experience. The Noble Rot Semillon Zibbibo was amazing! The highlight for my husband and I was Danshi Rise Winery. Such a wonderful winery experience and the best Shiraz we have tasted. Thank you Steve Daniel for doing what you do and for being who you are. We ordered a case and some olive oil. I think we will be regular customers of this winery. It is extremely well priced for the quality of the wine. We also visited Lloyd Brothers - this is a beautiful winery, just not our type of wines. Next up was Hither and Yon. We really enjoyed these wines also. Didn't buy a case as we still had the Barossa to visit. Lunch was at Vasarelli was delicious. Chook is entertaining and great value. The thing we loved about this tour, there was no rush. Chook gave us options of what we could do next and we could take our time speaking with the wine makers and cellar door personal. We wanted to taste the cider from this region also, one place was closed so Chook organised another place. Just brilliant service. If you are in McLaren Vale do this tour - you will not regret it. You feel like part of the family everywhere you go and this is down to Chook and the relationships he has with the people of this region. Thank you Chook, we loved it all. We are still waiting for the photos when you get a chance. Can't wait for the first case of wine to arrive! C xx

This was my first wine tour, and my first visit to the McLaren Vale. I wanted to book a wine tour for my wife's 30th birthday and after reading all the reviews for Chook's little winery tour, I couldn't go past it.Chook was very professional when organising the tour and he is a great bloke that knows a lot about the region and knows a lot of the locals!Out group of 13 were picked up from our hotel in the city and our first stop was Dog Ridge. This was my favourite stop as we had a private tasting at the cellar door on our own table. Great little winery. Then we visited Graham Stevens wines and were served by the legend himself. Graham was a true gentleman and made some pretty mean wines to boot! Lunch was at Echidna wines and we were able to cleanse the pallet with some of their craft beers and the food served was amazing! Next stop was Gemtree and finally Danshi Rise where we tried wine straight from the barrel, ate some beautiful cheese and home grown chilli, while chatting to Steve the owner. Overall I couldn't rate this tour any higher. Chook was a great host, unfortunately he had lost his voice but that didn't stop him from being a very good tour guide. Great wine, great wineries, good times! Cheers Chook!

Chook's Little Winery Tours are out of this world! Chook and Mrs Chook picked us up from town and the city and the great day started then. This winery tour takes you to some of the most beautiful parts of the McLaren Vale. The wineries that Chook takes you to are smaller properties that feature wide varietals that really showcase the region. Each cellar door is welcoming and you really experience the local warmth and hospitality from each property. A beautiful lunch is supplied of local fare, beer and wine. The final cellar door you visit is Chook's good mate Steve which is a boutique property featuring stunning Shiraz and you can taste the current vintage straight out of the barrel! Overall, this tour is a fantastic experience! I cannot fault Chook or his local knowledge. Cannot wait to get on another tour with him! Cheers Chook!

We were visiting Adelaide for a few days and booked Chook's Little Winery tour after reading all the positive reviews. Chook was very easy to communicate with and picked us up promptly at our apartment as arranged. We were the only people on the tour, which made it a very intimate experience. Chook was full of lots of interesting information about Adelaide, the Hills and McLaren Vale, and we felt in knowledgeable hands. The first vineyard we went to was Dog Ridge - lots of lovely wine and very friendly owner/staff. The sticky wine was too die for! Next was Gemtree, which was a more boutique upmarket vineyard, making organic wines. Fabulous site for a cellar door, although the wine was not our favourite of the trip. Next was Graham Steven's - fantastic wine, friendly cellar door host, and cute dog! The French barrel Shiraz was heavenly. We were limited as to what we could buy, as can only take 6 bottles of wine back to NZ, and wish we could have bought more. Lunch was a tapas style platter at Ekhidnas, very nice, and included in the price of the tour. Had to drink lots of tea, as was feeling a bit tiddly by then. Samuel Gorge was the next vineyard. We had a little tour of the operation and then drank lots of wine in their very interesting cellar door - loved the old olive press. We bought a bottle of wine, which unfortunately didn't make it home intact in my husband's suitcase. Shingleback cellar door was less interesting for us, as we do get their wine back home. The highlight cellar door was the last one for the day. Chook took us to his friend's vineyard - Danshi Rise. Seriously good wine, which is really under-priced. It was a great experience, and how many vintners do you meet who have a motorbike in their cellar door? It was a fantastic day out, and when we come back to Adelaide, we will be sure to visit Mclaren Vale and Danshi Rise with Chook again. a good tour guide makes all the difference, and as Chook is a local, he knows so much about the area and it's inhabitants, and is passionate about wine. Chook spoilt us for tours - several days later we did a Barossa tour which really fell flat in comparison. We're still waiting for the photos, Chook!

Thanks to Chook and Pagey for a great day through McLaren Vale. Chook looked after our group of 9 from start to finish. His planning and communication before the tour was great, and on the day it is evident that the winery staff know him well and welcome his organised visits (this is rare considering bus tours to wineries are often frowned upon). A couple of unique behind the scenes tastings at Danshi Rise and Graham Steven' wineries were really special. We'd have no problems in highly recommending Chooks Little Winery Tours, what a great way to sit back and enjoy the day. Cheers from Mark, Lynette and the rest of the gang

I would highly recommend Chooks tours. He organised a fantastic day for me, my husband Ian, and my friend Fiona, who is visiting from the UK. Chook took us to some fabulous wineries (Dogridge, Gemtree, Graham Stevens, and Danshi Rises) and breweries (Ekhidna) in which we had a fab time tasting lots of wines and was actually given the time to speak to people at the wineries and breweries. Thank you for a fabulous day Chook and thank you for the photographs tooBest wishes Dianne & Ian Thompson plus Fiona Flemington
