We came to the winery to share a couple of platters, a few glasses of something nice and to sit around and chat while the kids played. The winery was able to provide all of this for us. The area was quite safe for the children to run around and play as it was well away from traffic etc and right in front of the tables - so we could see them at all times. The platters were delicious but rather sparse for the price - but then again - this seems to be the way things are these days. No complaints with the quality of the produce at all. All in all we had a very pleasant couple of hours and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Your in the McLaren vale to sample wines, which we did, but I couldn't help but feel I'd had my sample and now it was either buy or get out. It was early in the day and yes it was the 27th Dec, but really if your can't engage with the guests find someone who can or close doors for the Christmas period. The wine was ok, and yes I did buy one, but then got out; probably never to bother returning as there are far too many other establishments which offer the fun of the experience, and it is an experience, otherwise I would have saved the airfare and bough it at my local bottleO

This winery is popular not only for wine tasting but is used for outdoor concerts. We arrived at 11am the opening time however we had to wait a while before the doors opened. The grounds are well maintained and the wine of a good quality. The day was a bit cool so we were happy to go inside however the airconditioners were blasting cold air and they refused to turn them down or off therfore we left early.

We stopped in here for lunch whilst in the Mclaren Vale. The grounds of the winery are very nice, with well manicured lawns as you walk into the cellar door. The cellar door is large with lots of tables and quite a few staff working. The lunch platter was pretty good, tasty dips, cheeses and fruit. We tried quite a few of the wines and weren't particularly impressed by any of them. If you are in the area and looking for a lunch platter then it's worth it, but we wouldn't go out of our way to go back.

We were doing the rounds of the vineyards in McLaren Vale, going from one cellar door to another trying out the local wines. We arrived at this vineyard at lunchtime. It is a tasteful modern building in a beautiful setting at the top of a long driveway entrance with flag poles, lawns and gardens in front of the building. After tasting a few of the wines, we asked about the options for lunch. When they said they offered platters, I wasn't convinced because I thought this would not be enough to fill me up. However, my wife insisted that we give it a try and we were very happy that we did. They served us our platter and wine on the outside terrace overlooking the vineyard. It was a very pleasant meal and it was more than enough to satisfy my hunger. It was a great choice for lunch.

Very friendly welcoming - tasted some of the white wine - very nice on a hot south Australian day - ordered the plowmans platter - table was set up outside with water and the usual. Platter was very tasty - excellent quality goods - only issue the platter was on the smaller side - but worth it for the price and quality of good - had a glass of wine too. Our 3 year old ran and ran on the lush grass. View and setting was excellent

Nice open place but we were disappointed by the wines- we didn't like any and after trying 40 cellar doors in Australia we did compare many.Very pleasant and knowledgeable young man who was eager to explain his wines.ps i would like to add we are not wine experts but can tell what we like

A sunny afternoon, a yummy platter of regional cheese, glass of wine and live music on the lawn. Simple perfection

Another lovely platter at Leconfield. After a taste of the top shelf Leconfield Cab Sav and Shiraz, and Late Harvest Riesling for my wife we settled in for another delicious ploughmans platter and a glass of wine each for lunch. Great setting looking out over the fields of grapes and roses. Cellar door and kitchen staff always look after you here with great food and informative chat about the wines. We will be back again and again.

We visited twice in a fortnight, once with friends who like us visiting from NSW had not been there before (though we liked their wines!) and again for lunch (ploughman's and cheese platters) with locals who knew their stuff. Welcomed back the second time by staff member who did really remember us, lovely lunch in really nice surroundings - big table, roaring fire, lovely outlook. Excellent service, low-key and expert wine advice (always effective) and wonderful wine. Recommended.

Gorgeous setting. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Taste both brands then enjoy a generous ploughman's platter for two either indoors or out. Not to be missed.

At first we were doubtful when we saw the food menu consisted of 3 different cheese platters but we were hungry and we liked the look of the lovely building. We were very glad we stayed. Service was great, location was lovely, food was casual but nicely served and complimented the wines. There were various cheeses and crackers, bread, olives and fruit. Exactly right for a wine tasting and relaxing on their verandah! Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and would definitely go again.
