My wife and I, and a couple friends we were traveling with, took one of these tours, arranged through someone kind enough to take care of the details on Cruise Critic. It was billed as a 4x4 four in a Range Rover. The vehicle was manufactured at least 25 years ago and not air conditioned. We were rushed from the dock (we arrived early) only to sit in the car for 15-20 minutes. As it turned out, other cars were air conditioned. Our tour included a number of stops and, instead of the 16 people total in two 4x4's,there were three vehicles, including a bus. Not a personal tour at all. Our driver, who was very nice, spoke no English. Jocelyne should work on her English--her accent was more difficult to understand than anyone else we encountered in the islands. The island is beautiful. We were there on an fabulous Oceania cruise in January 2015.

Jocelyn gave us an excellent afternoon tour of the island at a reasonable price (much cheaper than the ship tour). We booked this over the internet and she was always very prompt in replying. She was there to meet us when we got off our tender and provided excellent transportation. She is very knowledgeable about the island and provided very interesting commentary. We stopped at several beautiful vistas and other sites for some great photo ops. We highly recommend her.Phil and Diane

Excellent all day tour in Nuku Hiva with Jocelyne in her air conditioned new van. We traveled to the historical sights as well as the archeological sights. For 8 passengers the cost was $128pp not including a wonderful lunch at Chez Yvonnes. After lunch we fed the leftovers to the blue eyed eels in a stream next to the open air restaurant. Even though Jocelyne speaks English, I has some trouble understanding everything, but I got enough to generally understand. A very informative tour.
