What an asset this is to both Feilding and Manawatu. Wonderful collection of bygone agricultural eras. Spend hours reminiscing!

Have taken a few people to the museum, the displays are amazing and there is something for everyone. Just lacks a café but there are plenty nearby

The volunteers are very welcoming and a great asset. Took my mother and father, and we all throughly enjoyed our day. Nice to learn about the history of Feilding and the surrounding areas.

I have thought about visiting this place for a while, and only had the chance to visit this recently. I was greeted very by the friendly volunteers, although the elderly lady who served me had a little trouble with the eftpos machine she was very friendly and helpful. Upon entering the museum I was quite surprised as to how big it was; It was far bigger than I had realized it was. Everything was well laid out with plenty of information available. It was truly fascinating not only seeing the array of items on display, but reading the history of the area. There is a large collection of not only horse drawn equipment, but clothing, tools, and tractors. Everything is obviously well cared for as well. There are a few interactive elements which is a nice touch, and a couple of carriages that you can climb up and sit on (a stage coach and a buggy). Well worth a visit, I spend a couple of hours wandering around and reading all the information. Probably wouldn't take that long if you had children, but very much worth a visit. I would recommend stopping in and having a look if you are in the area and have a little free time.

I visited the museum a little while ago now and moust commend the many volunteers, staff and sponsors that have helped to make the museum possible. The history of the area is bought to life by amazing displays of very old (to not so old) vehicles, machinery and other displays. Well worth the visit!I would have expected by now though that the website would have been updated to reflect the professionalism of the museum itself - it's very amateur looking and out of date.

Very well set out giving lots of history of the local area and of the first settlers & their lives. It includes the early days of some families who still live in the area & how they began their farming life. The array of equipment, tools & clothes are fascinating and lots of visual & moving things for the young children to push on & communicate with. A great learning place for young and old!Congratulations to the folk who set it all up and put in so much hard work to achieve a most interesting and inspiring museum. Well done a credit to you all.

We saved the museum for a rainy day and took along our 9 year old grandson. The staff were really helpful and when you get inside the place is HUGE.Its obvious that there has been a lot of time and effort into making the museum. We all liked different things. I liked the settler history and all the historical photos. My husband liked the old vehicles and our grandson the tractors. If you are a member of the NZMCA you can stay over in the car park and with only a short walk into Feilding town centre its a great place to stop.

Really helpful and knowledgeable volunteers - who went out of their way to put us in touch with other heritage sites. Interesting exhibits - you can see a lot of work has gone into the set up - really good stop off

Over one of the recent wet weekends, we decided to take our two youngest to discover what was behind the huge building in which we kept saying one day we will go and visit. The outside of the building does no justice to what absolute treasures, history and total dedication that this Museum contains. From the wonderful warm greeting of the volunteers, we turned the corner only to discover how truly amazing to see many wonderful displays of history filled to the brim in this massive warehouse.I cannot express that this Museum exceeds some of the local Museum displays seen around today - and this also includes Te Papa. If you want to experience life back in the pioneer days, through the sights and smells of local history with wonderful displays, then take the entire family before these wonderful treasures are lost. Our children really enjoyed this Museum as we could explain and feed them insight to how our grandparents lived. This helped us to explain that they are very lucky to have all the technology that surrounds them, but we also let them know that sitting in front of computers you don't get to experience reality.Thank you to all those wonderful volunteers who have put so much time and effort into a truly delightful experience. :-)

I visited The Coach House Museum recently while in New Zealand. Run by Enthusiastic volunteers I was amazed by the amount of equipment and machinery they had on view. A lot had to be restored and they had been done to an exceptional standard. But overwhelmingly was the historical importance of this area and Feilding itself in the establishing of townships in the new country (to many anyway). Well worth the $10 entrance.

This is an outstanding collection of old transport in the area, beautifully shown with plenty of room. Definitely worth a visit for old and young alike.

The Coach House is in a huge warehouse on the outskirts of Feilding and the plain exterior gives nothing away as to the delights in store. It has recently moved here and has been very well done. The size and range of the collection is huge - from lots of horse-drawn carriages to farm implements and John Deere vehicles, as well as exhibits which tell the story of pioneer life in the area. Children can climb up into a stage coach, make a water wheel work and examine many other things as well. The work that has gone into this by local volunteers is truly impressive and there are some wonderful stories there. Highly recommended for all ages.
