You wouldn't realize how beautiful and ornate the Basilique was inside, by looking at it's exterior. Go in and read about the first Bishop of Quebec (Francois de Laval), he's buried beneath the Basilique in the crypt. The oldest Catholic parrish in North America dating back to 1647.

From the outside the Notre Dame cathedral is a bit unassuming and rather plain. On the inside it is a bit of a shock. In addition to being a place of worship that is actively used, the cathedral is stunningly beautiful on the inside. If you are simply passing by on a walk around the old city, make sure to stop in here for a moment of quiet reflection. The inside is breathtaking.

Driving from Montreal to Quebec and stopping around this area first to look for food did not do well for my experience here. I simply was too tired to go inside and assumed (right or wrong) that since i had already visited the Notre Dame in Paris, that this would simply not compare. Terrible judgment on my part i know but just letting you know i didn't get a chance to marvel at what i'm sure was a stunning church.

We were out for a walk in the cold and saw this church. On the outside you would have no idea what beauty is awaiting you on the inside. It was breath taking inside!

We are not fluent in French, obvious to the greeter for our 9:30am Mass....but so warm and welcoming, the chorus amazing...beautiful chants.

Happened upon this church while wandering the streets of Québec City. From the outside, it looks like just another church - inside, absolutely beautiful! Visited early Saturday morning - inside was peaceful and quiet.

Attended the 11:30 AM sunday mass-all french speaking but provide the readings in spanish and english. Really a beautiful church with many different areas to view-pictures allowed ---so glad we were able to attend the service and view the beauty within.

We were able to see it when the Holy Door was present which is an interesting history. It is beautiful and charming. Be sure to get a tour to catch all the details

This is one of the nicer Catholic church and I was glad I went there. It had a good feel and is very part of the history of Old Quebec.

Enjoyed viewing this church on a tour of Quebec City with a group of friends. It is very tastefully and elegantly designed.

We visited here at a fortunate time as they had the Holy Door open until the end of December. There are only six in the world, so this was an opportunity that we could not pass up. Now closed until a date far in the future, we count our blessings that we were here when it was open.

This is definitely worth a visit, the basilique is gorgeous! Also heated in winter (unlike European Cathedrals) which means you can spend a lot more time checking it out in winter!

This church is stunningly beautiful. It is free to go in and the artwork and the interior is magnificent. Take a moment after you go in and sit and let the beauty of the surrounding sink in.

Was there for the close of the 350 year anniversary of Notre Dame - beautiful decorations, music and lights. Very, very crowded inside, long wait to enter, but once in, sat and absorbed the ambience and history
