We went to Au Canot Volant during a weekend stay in Lanaudiere. We went for the Petite Descente Excursion (we were 8 people and 1 child on 4 canoes). The excursion itself took us long because we were going slowly, but I think it can be done in less than the 2-3 hours indicated on the website, and it wasn't super challenging. 2 of our canoes got stuck in the rocks for a bit, so it seemed like the water was low, although the staff told us that the water was high at the time - it might be good to make sure when you go. There are a few areas with rapids where the water is pretty shallow, so it's good to be avoid the shallow parts to avoid getting stuck. We went on a cloudy, misty day, and the view was still very nice. The Petite Descente was a good excursion for a family with a child. The staff was really friendly and accommodated our English-speaking friends :)Overall, we had a good time at Au Canot Volant. I would definitely want to try the more challenging excursions next time!
