The park was closed after the 2013 flood and has recently reopened. The playgrounds are great and lots of fun. The usual amenities are there. Glad it's open again.

Huge. In the winter they have fire pits on the ice while you skateSummer you can rent canoes, ride the miniature train, play by the river. Nice way to spend a leisurely day.

Bowness park used to be one of my favorite places to hang out. Before the flood happened they were closing it for a season to redo parts of the park that had become overgrown with roots etc. Then the flood happened. It has been closed for over two years now. It opened for ice skating this winter which was a bonus. It is supposed to reopen this summer . We'll see. IF it does reopen, expect a great place to walk, wade in the river and bike.

The Bowness Lagoon is back open for skating. We went at night over Christmas the first day it opened. The ice is bumpy are there are cracks to watch out for but it is a great family outing. There are some nat gas fire pits which are nice to look at but there is not much heat off them. The pavilion or skate shack was not yet open but it looks close to completion from the outside. Park skating hours are posted on the City of Clagary website.

In the summer it's a great place to sit bit the river, throw a frisbee, and grab ice cream. In the winter the lagoon freezes and is great for skating on. Overall a great outdoor place for friends and families.

Bit bumpy surface with lots of fun cracks to avoid. It's skating on a river at its best. Really busy park with lots of parking and lots of seating for you to tie on your skates. There were a couple of fire pits but we couldn't get close enough to enjoy. Like I said, lots of people.... Happy people though so excellent place to go on sunny winter day.

I didnt have a chance to go back since the flood of 2013. I know it was closed and they are working on it since. But BEFORE, it was the perfect place to start our floating/rafting trip on the Bow to downtown. During winter, you can skate on the lagoon and rent skate. Music and hotchocolate were serve. I hope this nice park will be back like that or better for the next season !

Haven't been there in years but remember going skating at the park. You can skate quite a distance within the park and there's benches and a firepit available. It's a great attraction for families of all ages, friends get-together or just go skating by yourself.

Bowness Park is an all season park with natural ice skating on the lagoon in the winter and lots of fun things to do in the summer. The park is situated along the river and it is pleasant to walk along the water in the summer. Worthwhile to visit.

Is a great place to go for walks, to take the kids to play, rent a canoe or just start your river adventure from there. There is a mini golf, train rides and wadding pool to refresh. Make sure you bring plenty water and why not picnic.

Every time I have been here I just love the vibe. Each time I feel so relaxed after. It doesnt matter how many times I've been here it always has the same affect. I mean the best time to go is in the summer time and do a true picnic and all. The mini golf as I remember was a fairly easy course. They should make it more fun and challenging though.

Under renovation right now, but this park is so lovely with so many things to do in one place if you like the outdoors without feeling like you are in the city. It has many things to do for an individual, family or with friends all year round! Easy to find with ample free parking. This park is also by the river, so you can take a stroll and stop to throw rocks, sit to read a book, or even jump in for a little swim. You can have a family picnic/BBQ and play frisbee. It even has a couple little kids park and few water spray fountains for the young kids to run through.Rent a canoe with friends or your partner or kids and then get an ice cream afterwards at the concession. Play mini golf....Feed the ducks at the pond....Or in the winter, go skating on the pond!Go check it out! It's a great place to spend an afternoon or evening!

Very popular city park for picnic group rentals, outdoor skating, canoe launching for river runs. Under massive renovations and restoration for the next year due to river flooding.

Fondest memories of yesterday (dad-kids) picnic in the forest. Fishing swimming, if you dare. Train bridge my first big jump circa 1970. Feels like your in Bow/Hoe, people are usually great.
