Had the opportunity to visit this pub during our stay on Vancouver for business. Watching the planes land in the water in front of the pub was great. It was fairly busy so we had to sit indoors, which is a shame as it was a gorgeous day. The beer was nice and cold and the wings were spot on. This is definitely a place for tourists to check out if in the area.

Amazing views, food and ambiance! Cheap wings and beers served on Sundays and Wednesdays (at specific times). To get a seat, you may need to wait awhile. Beautiful water and airplane views on a sunny day! They're breakfast food is also good here. I always enjoy their omelettes.

This pub never fails. Great ambiance watching float planes come and go on the river by the south terminal of YVR. Great food with a unique and varied menu, quick and efficient service even when it's busy. We were seated quickly and drinks came fast and the food was high quality. Try the blackened halibut fillet...wow. We will be back again.

This is a great little pub. It is pretty average in the look of it inside, with lots of wood and a long bar, but it is nicely furnished with a bit of local artwork. The view is great as you are only a few yards from the seaplanes taking off and landing and pulling up to the dock. The fare is pretty standard and not extensive but it is well prepared and not as greasy or devoid of veggies as some of the other locals in the area. Fish tacos are great and the red clam chowder is full of veggies and is a peppery masterpiece. Love it. Reasonable selection of beers. Reasonably good service. Gets really busy and parking can be a pain. Sometimes live entertainment. - Mitch

If you have time between flights this is a great place to pass it. The friendly bar with a view, open deck, near the south terminal of Vancouver airport is a hot spot with good food and drinks. Sea planes land and start from and to nearby destinations, and there is a shuttle bus to Vancouver International airport for passengers. Cab was just under 15$.

Sunny, pleasant servers, wonderful location on the river watching the floatplanes land. Damm fine blackened Halibut burger.

First time at this restaurant was four days ago and loved it. I had the coconut shrimp and yam fries and both were excellent. I washed it down with a cranberry & soda and before my glass was empty, the server came to ask me if I wanted a refil and that it would cost only $1 so I said sure and it was before me in a flash. Great food, great service.SO... I went back today with another friend and this time I had the fish and chips, halibut not cod and the same drink. When the fish and chips came, there was no ketchup or vinegar brought to the table (last week both were brought before the food came, even though we required neither). So I tried to catch the eye of nearby servers, as I couldn't see ours, and after 10 minutes gave up and walked up to the bar and asked for some. I was given it and walked back to the table to find our server there and when she saw me she said "Oh I was about to get those for you." Hmmm... okay but if that is the case, why didn't you bring them when you came just now? Whatever. So I started to eat my meal and right away determined that I had been served cod and not halibut. She came at that moment to see how we were liking the meal and I told her my suspicions. She said no, it was halibut and I asked her how she knew... she said that they put toothpicks in the cod when it was ready to tell the difference. That is great but what if they grabbed the cod by mistake, didn't realize it, so no toothpicks? I didn't say that but she could tell I was not convinced (I know halibut when I have it, that is why I pay more for it) so she said, "I can reorder it for you but it is going to be exactly the same. There won't be any difference." So I said no, it's fine and she left. Eating the rest I was even more sure that it was cod. Anyway, she came back towards the end of the meal, when my glass had been empty for a while and asked me if I'd like another. I said I would. She never mentioned the charge for a refil. She left and we didn't see her again for 20 min, when she suddenly appeared and said, word for word, "I never put that on your bill, do you still want it?" I looked up and asked what she meant and she said, "the drink". I told her no as we were done. She wasn't saying anything by way of explanation so I asked her "what happened to it, anyway?" she said, "I forgot." and walked off. No apology, nothing. Not impressed one bit and if that had been my only experience here, my rating would be 'terrible' instead of 'average'. If Friday had been my only experience, I would have rated it 'excellent'. So - average the two and you get.......average.I planned on making this a regular spot, even though I live in North Vancouver but after today, I don't think I will risk it.Today is the first time ever I have not left a tip. I usually leave at least 20% and often a lot more.

The Flying Beaver is a pretty cool spot for lunch or dinner. Been here about 10 times and always enjoyed it. Food is good, not very exotic, but good portions and well priced. I have no particular favorite but my buddy swears the Salmon Burger is the best. Beer is good. View is great - just grab a window seat and watch all the float planes fly in and out. You cant get this view from many other restaurant/pubs out there. Servers are all friendly and service is very good too. Overall a great little restaurant worth trying if you've never been there. Prices are good, food is good, view is great, very laid back, etc... Highly recommended.

We sat on the shaded patio and had a great view of the water planes landing and taking off. We arrived at 2 pm and the place was hopping. Service was excellent and stff were friendly. We recommend the salmon salad and the seafood grill. Both were fresh and tasty. This is a great place to go if you ar from out if town.

Located on water near the airport, we enjoyed watching the water planes land & take off. It was mid-afternoon on a weekday and the place was pretty full. Most people were having drinks and bar food. We ordered from the menu. I had a daily special of grilled swordfish with rice/lentils and green beans. My meal was very good. My wife had the seafood skewer with white rice and green beans. Hers was average because she did not like the rice and thought it was overcooked. We each had water (we wanted unsweet ice tea, but they had none). Overall this place was a bit above average (because of the view, swordfish & reasonable prices), but fell short of very good (because of the rice and no unsweet tea). Total with tax & tip was $41.

This pub is on the Fraser River adjacent to Vancouver International Airport. The food is basic. Good burgers, etc. But the views of the floatplane activity are certainly unique.Great place to wait for a flight and have a bite to eat.

Dropped our daughter off at the airport on her trip to India and decided to grab a burger for lunch. Everything on the burger was extra so an $11 burger with added bacon and cheese cost $15 but the clincher for me was the orange juice. It tasted like tang. Crappy watered down bar juice. With tip the meal of 2 coffee, two juice and two burgers was close to $50. By the way the staff dresses like a want to be Hooters restaurant. Apart from the float planes there’s nothing here folks.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service all the time! Been here many times and it has never disappointed. Ever! Great for a fun first date, get togethers with friends or even celebrating a special event.

We are from the interior and took our UK family there for dinner while waiting for a flight out of YVR. We really enjoyed it.The F.Beaver's own website has some pretty negative comments, but I don't know what really upset those contributors. This is a sports bar with a great view of the seaplane operations and a spectacular setting for the sunset. The food was great, the service attentive and the staff very pleasant and cheerful. Would not hesitate to return. Try to go for appy hour. Deals are great!

The Flying Beaver is a sports bar we frequent, and Wednesday is the time when we go for its Wednesday Wings Special. Wings are 45 cents each after 5 p.m., and the quality of wings is excellent. My personal favourite is the honey garlic, but when you go with a bunch of friends, you can pretty well munch on all flavours, and none of them would disappoint. Flying Beaver also offers other daily specials, but none can beat the wings, in my opinion. Wednesday nights at the Flying Beaver can be crazily busy, and service is obviously compromised as a result. Still, my experience has been mostly positive. As in the case with other sports bar, Flying Beaver can be too noisy for conversations. The patio offers a quieter place for conversations; however, because Richmond's city bylaws still allow for smoking in open areas, the patio becomes a place where smoking patrons occupy, thus making that space nowhere near what it could have been for non-smoking guests.Seating can be a bit of a challenge. If you have a party of more than 10 people, it would be very challenging to be seated together. For 45 cents a wing, and a tasty wing I must add, I cannot really complain much about the Flying Beaver.
