I used to go in the gardens when I needed some reflection time. These gardens really transport you to a small peaceful spot that makes you feel like you are back in Japan. Enjoy.

The gardens are especially enjoyable in springtime when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.Take your time and bring a snack to nibble on while you enjoy the peace, quiet and perfumes that abound.Simply perfect.

It's a bit out of the way being out on the UBC campus but if you go out that way well worth an hour of strolling or just sitting around. Classic Japanese style garden - perfect for a time of relaxing or mellowing out for a bit.

This garden is beautiful - it is so serene. I really enjoyed walking through it. The trees were beautiful, really wish we could go into the historical house in the garden but it was neat to see.

The ferries pop along False Creek, so you get to see lots of high-rises and parks. No narrative provided, though. A fun, cheap ride!

The garden is in a remote corner of the UBC campus but its an absolutely wonderful place. Its considered one of the best Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Its small and easy to work your way through. Beautiful koi in the pond at the centre and a traditional tea house.

This is a very beautiful garden which conveys a great sense harmony and tranquillity. A wonderful place to meditate and reflect on life.

I was lucky enough to visit the garden on a guided tour of UBC. Though small, the garden beautifully mimics a traditional Japanese garden for its simplicity and serenity. Depending on your temperament, you can either spend a few minutes enjoying its magnificence or a few hours basking in the retreat's glory on one of the benches scattered throughout for visitors.

This is a gorgeous, peaceful garden. It is well worth visiting if you are visiting the UBC campus. It is designed to look nice in any season. Tea ceremonies are hosted occasionally in the tea house on site.

This is the place where I like to go when I need to centre and reconnect with myself. It's a concentration of extreme natural beauty in a small garden. This is the place where spirituality and connection with nature makes sense to me. The garden is kept in immaculate shape and I do recommend that you attend the tea ceremony. I feel very very lucky to have this garden in my city.

In addition to the beautiful japanese style garden, I had an amazing and deep experience while taking part in a Tea Ceremony, where you can witness the formal preparation of tea and participate as guest in this wonderful japanese practice. You can check it out here: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/nitobe/tea-ceremoniesHighly recommended!

We went on an overcast, cold day. Lots of greenery, not much flowers. Very zen like. Great place to think and appreciate who you are and all that is around you. Free parking on the street.

This garden is not only tranquil but has exquisite attention to details that the Japanese gardens are famous for. It is not very big but e prepared to spend some time soaking in the atmosphere.
