Just an overall great experience. A real piece of Okanagan history and wonderfully restored. They also allow you all over the boat - unlike other boat museums that I have been on

We booked this magnificent boat for our Christmas party, although I have used it for children's parties in the past as well. It is like stepping back in time when you enter, to the land of paddle-steamers on big rivers, Dixieland jazz and even a murder or two on the Nile thrown in for good measure. Nothing is too much for the boat's office to handle or arrange for you: catering, music, bands, bar staff...maybe Hercule Poirot...and it's all for only about $100 per hour. For all of us steam train enthusiasts out there (yes..I know...there are names that we are called behind our backs!) you even get to play with the enormous train set that is there to greet you as you walk in...(and what more is there in life than THAT, eh?!)The upstairs area has 3 large rooms and enough cabins, trinkets and curios to keep a hardened enthusiast quiet for several months. We hosted 100 people at this party....easily enough room. A children's party next day had about 30 (and games and parents and balloons and mess!) and it was equally perfect. What kid doesn't want to run amok on a beached boat with a train set on board?! There's a bar and a kitchen (sorry..."galley") complete with cooker and fridge. Toilets, yes, and real ones not port-a-potty or aircraft stuff. You'll need to get a bar license if you want to serve booze .A big THANK YOU to Jessie who runs the show. She is outstanding in many, many ways and will make the booking process simple and hassle free. "The best hospital party ever" is being quoted today. I don't think it was me (sadly) but mainly due to the classy, unique venue and the staff therin. Thank you, Jessie.

Hi Tourista47 :)It was great having you on board :) Did you know that the little tug Naramata was made there too? Its a long way to travel from, but we are glad that you did. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to the Okanagan, and that you had a great trip back home to Dryden :)

Me and my husband got married here in August, and the venue couldn't have been more magical! The location was perfect, and the staff were very accommodating.

We got married at the SS sicamous in April and it was perfect! The extremely helpful staff made my wedding dream a reality without going over budget. Our guests love the unique venue and were able to enjoy the meseum. Our guests still tell us how great a venue it was, months later! It's located close to hotels and many great photo locations for the wedding party. We had a lot of creative wedding photos within the ship too. I'd recommend the venue to anyone!!

I enjoyed the museum, very informative, took a lot of pictures, we must have been there over an hour looking at everything.

Brillant - we were there for a museum conference and had an opening reception there. The crew aboard the ship were knowledgeable and the fellows running the trains took plenty of time to explain all the working of the layout. I loved walking on the decks of this wonderful old treasure. A must see!

We had a great time on the sicamous! We loved the model railway and the effort they put in to recreating the rooms! Would love to get married here :-) we'll be back!

Having grown up in Vancouver, in the "education" system of the 1950's, I knew nothing of the inland waterways of BC, nor of the steam powered sternwheelers that powered up and down Okanagan Lake and Kootenay lake. The SS Sicamous and the Society that maintains her have done a wonderful job to bring the lady of the lake to life. Long live SS Sicamous!

Every tourist of Penticton should take a moment and step on board this really authentic and historic ship!

Nice display of a time long gone. It transports you to a time when ferries were a mean of transportation between Kelowna and Penticton. They have done a nice job of preserving the ambiance of the time, as well as pictures, and stories.

I have been visiting Penticton for years and stopped at the Sicamous years ago. How the project has progressed! They`ve done a great job of restoring the ship - you can even blow the whistle! There are catering facilities and the upper decks would make a beautiful venue for a small wedding or party. I was impressed and enjoyed our visit.

SS Sicamous is a must see if you are in the Penticton area. The ship is huge, has a great view of the lake and is filled with history inside.
