I have attended various events. The buildings and displays are very interesting but, what really stands out is the setting. The scenery is beautiful, from the forested walking trails to the landscaping to the large pond with the waterfall. It is a very attractive place to spend a sunny afternoon. I highly recommend it.

Every summer the R.J. Haney Heritage Village has tri -weekly shows written by local playwrights on local history. The price of the ticket includes a delicious supper beforehand and after the play coffee and dessert. This years production was Nellie Trueheart's encounter with Pureville N.E.. The music was catchy and the performers really belted out their tunes and I came away with a bit of knowledge to consider. Since my last visit four years ago there is a new amphitheatre with permanent seating going up the hill opposite. The acoustics are much better and the comfort level is so much above the old benches or lawn chairs. Lots to see around the village and even though I never grew up or lived in the Shuswap area found everything interesting,

Spent a great day walking through the heritage village, roaming around inside all the old buildings, received a private tour of the original Haney House which was given by one of the student actors from the Villians & Vittles Dinner Theater cast! The heritage gardens around the House are absolutely stunning! Finished off the day with lunch in the Tea Room and had Ice cream for dessert.

We took in a late Sunday afternoon tour through the Haney Village depicting the town of Salmon Arm as it was 50-100 years ago. That had its charm but what really made the day was the highly-vaunted Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre. A country-style Sunday supper of roast pork, potatoes, carrots and cole slaw was followed by a very polished 4-person outdoor show featuring local talent, the very same folks who helped prepare and serve your dinner. These young actors put on a great show using a fast-paced and clever script by local director and playwright, Peter Blacklock. The evening was capped with a return to the eating area for rhubarb crisp and ice cream. The only downside to report is we saw the last of this season's 25 performances. Be sure to reserve a spot for next year. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Kind of stumbled on to this place. Typical heritage museum with lots of old relocated buildings. Has some fun displays of early Canadian lifestyle items. Some old early cars as well.Short walking trails through the local woods were fun as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get to attend the a play at the theater, but what a cool venue it is! A small outdoor bowl theater with wood benches and sets.

We've been to the Village before, but this was our first time at the dinner theater. The food was really good, everything was home made, and tasted like Sunday dinner at Grandma's! The play was held in the outdoor amphitheater, was well done and very entertaining, with the young performers doing a great job acting and singing. The park like setting is both charming and beautiful. We wandered around the historic buildings and sat snd relaxed in the garden. Coffee and dessert is served after the play back in the tea room, by the actors. It was fun chatting with them about the play.Overall it was a great night out which we would highly recommend!

Myself and my family found this a great place for a day out in Salmon Arm. The Staff were very friendly and very keen to explain the history of the exhibits. Well worth checking out!!

I always enjoy going to the dinner theaters at Haney Heritage The plays are about the history of Salmon arm and are performed by our local drama students. We begin with a great meal, served by the multi talented drama students, then off to the play. The Museum also has a high tea which I look forward to every year.

Visited for a second summer in a row and took in the theater production again. It is a great experience! There are 4 young actors that also serve your meal before the show. Dining takes place outside surrounded by the historic buildings and beautiful scenery. After dinner you walk to the outdoor theater to enjoy the performance. When it's over, you walk back down to enjoy dessert and coffee. The food is ok and smaller portions. However the surroundings and the production make up for this nicely. The young actors are very talented and the production impressive! It is a great family activity and a definite must see when in the area!

wish the tea room had a gluten free option. We made it up to the house only to find it was locked with a note to go to the museum. It caused a lot of extra walking for my elderly mother using a walker.

We recently visited this museum while staying near Salmon Arm. On the day we arrived, the museum was unfortunately closed but we really enjoyed walking around the well preserved grounds and imagining what life was like in this idyllic setting " back in the day". We were greeted by the manager who was cutting the grass and he graciously opened the garage for us. We will definitely return for a tour of the other buildings and for lunch in the tea room. Signs around the grounds gave us a good introduction for the history of the homestead and of the loving care that has gone into preserving it.

This little gem shows everyone, but especially young people, the way pioneer life was lived by their great-grandparents or even earlier generations. Watch for special features like: live plays, quilt shows, special dinners.

Haney Heritage Village is a wonderful spot to visit. It is an unfound gem. There are interactive exhibits and a wonderful display in the museum. RJ Haney House is a restored home that depicts life in the era the village portrays and provides a wonderful garden experience as well. The gardens throughout the village are lovely and the hanging baskets throughout the village are prize winning. The tea room provides an excellent light lunch, or tea, coffee and dessert. The tea room also provides dinner for the Villains and Vittles dinner theatre. The Dinner Theatre provides good family entertainment for excellent value. The talented young student actors are personable and energetic. The amphitheatre is an outstanding outdoor venue with state of the art sound system. There are easy walking trails to explore.Events at the village are well planned and fun. They host several events during the summer- like a car show, weddings, a Soiree, and Spooktacular which is a huge halloween event.
