This centre is contained within the converted historic Atlin Fishing centre, which has shops, a cafe etc. It is a modern very well designed & laid out exhibition on the port, and how it works.Focussing on Containerisation & cargo, it explains the links between Prince Rupert, the Far East, & ongoing destinations in North America.Using modern techniques, it does this very well & I found it extremely interesting. It really brought the town alive for me, & I would say it's a must visit, as it is a total contrast to other attractions.Wifi available.

Went in to find some info and wasn't disappointed, lots of info, city map and good local knowledge from the member of staff there, even sorted a cab to get to the seaplane base and gave tips on where to eat.

this is more than just a visitor's center, although the information they offered was superb. very knowledgable staff and patient with all my questions!in addition, there is a lot of information on Prince Rupert in the form of hands on exhibits, books, and displays. Very interesting and a great place to start your visit to P.R.

As soon as I got into town I headed for the Int.Center to save time. The girl looked up B&B's for me , after 2nd call I booked the Tall Trees and lucked out with it.They also had Wi-Fi connections to do your business needs . Easy to find , downtown...

Up-to-date displays and interesting displays about the port in Prince Rupert. Knowledgeable and friendly guides. Under-appreciated gem for a nice short visit.

Worth a quick visit if you go to the Cow Bay area of Prince Rupert. Can learn about history of trade/commerce in Prince Rupert region, from First Nation periods to future projections. Also site to get visitor information, help in finding lodging, or getting restaurant suggestions. staff will use phones at visitor desk to assist you.

We only had a brief time at the centre but enjoyed the interactive sections. We would like to go back to take in more of the information.

You don't need a lot of time to go through this but it was very interesting to see where the vision of Prince Rupert is going. The changes that have happened and the changes that are happening or are planned really show the visionaries of this world and how progress happens. I enjoyed it.

Conveniently located in the Atlin Terminal near many shops and restaurants is the Interpretive Centre. It has great information, is very interesting, and best of all it is free to visit. It is great for families or just adults to visit and learn more about what’s happening at the port and how they manage to accomplish so much.

Free, informative and a great intro to PR's history, location, and economy. The guide/staff--was very enthusiastic and he made us feel like high rollers as he extolled the potential of PR and it's can't miss future. Clearly he was well-trained.Exhibits are interesting, up to date and are accessible/engaging for all age groups.Well worth checking out.

We thought that this would be "just for kids", but the exhibits provided lots of detail and "little-known-facts" about major port operations in addition to some fun stuff for the younger set. Since tourists cannot access the actual, working port areas, this series of video and interactive displays is a close as most of us will get to a working port. Oh, and it is FREE! Plan on 30--60 minutes.
