meadow gardens golf course

I played two rounds at Meadow Gardens - Saturday and Sunday July 12 & 13th. The course is in excellent shape. Nice touch to provide some bottled water with the intense heat plus a big container of ice water at the concession stand to refill water containers. The pace of play was excellent. The Marshalls and clubhouse staff were all very personable. I enjoyed the rounds.

Meadow Gardens has a beautiful view from all facilities. The bar and restaurant, breakfast and lunch cafe and banquet facilities all have exquisite views. The golf course is relatively flat and easy to play, located in a lovely meadow with a clear spectacular view of the Golden Ears Mountains. That being said I prefer a coffee or drink here rather than a meal. The staff in the downstairs room have always made me welcome and weddings use the gardens for their functions in good weather. I would love to see this golf course live up to its potential. There are many hospitable staff members.

Everything about this course and the people who run it stinks! From the moment you check in at the (semi)Pro Shop, to the rude and incompetent marshals, to the hostile staff at the turn, to the speed of play, to the crappy service in the lounge, it is a spectacularly underwhelming and unprofessional experience.

There were 4 of us playing on Aug. 7th and were following a group of 3. With the exception of # 1 and #10 & #11, we waited at each tee box. This group was warned 3 times and then were asked to skip # 10 but our waiting started again on # 11 & thru # 18. The reason given was that this group contained only one experienced player with the other 2 being rookies, which caused us to have a 4:45 minute round. As a visitor to the coarse, I enjoyed the coarse and condition but not the slow play & standing at most tee boxes waiting.

We had our wedding at Meadow Gardens and it was horrible. They only had 2 servers working for a room filled with 135 people. There were only 2 bartenders working, and they were rude to all of my guests, and me. we were charged for food that never came out of the kitchen, the food was terrible, subpar at best. The appies we ordered would have been better if they came from Superstore. The food we ordered never came, and was replaced with food we would have never ordered. Clarie the events manager was rude, unempathetic, and just a nasty woman. When I wrote the manager, it took someone 3 weeks to get back to me, and he never actually got back to me, this was so unimportant to them that he had his assistant deal with me. I would never recommend Meadow Gardens, and if you are thinking of having your wedding there, I hope this review helps you.

My wife and I eat out rarely as we both love to cook and we find most restaurants just can't cut it. But there is one place close to our home which we always enjoy eating at and that is Meadow Gardens Golf Club. The price is right and the food/menu is worth a visit...not to mention the fabulous view of the perfectly manicured lawns and the mountains. Mike, the chef, always has something special on the menu - all you have to do is ask - and whether you like regular brunch fare, a succulent rib steak or just a huge plate of nachos - this golf haven is worth a try...usually very quiet and relaxing...ps...we don't play golf!
