This is in a rural vineyard area 40 miles outside of Vancouver BC, in the Fraser Valley, a GORGEOUS area known for its lush fruits and vegetables....and this fabulous winery and restaurant attraction. It is one of several wineries in the area, many of which offer tastings, but few that offer an award winning gourmet restaurant experience as well as fabulous wine. It could be an excellent day trip to experience a few wineries in the area, but of course bring a designated driver, or monitor how much tasting you do if you are driving. BC's drinking and driving laws can be strict, but if you keep your tasting to tiny sips, or sip and spit, as well as eating, many people will not have a problem. My visit was with a larger group, and we had not made reservations for dining, so we arrived to find that we could not get a table. I will not make this mistake again, as the menu looked wonderful and the very full dining room on an early December afternoon tells me that this is one of those dining experiences that is memorable and worth the effort and the drive. The dining room is unassuming and the drive is at least 20 minutes out of the city, but in terms of a memorable dining wine experience this is one of the best BC has to offer. The kitchen and entrance are covered in awards! As with many wineries, there is no shortage of wine and wine accessories for purchase. The nice part is that they make every effort to accommodate guests (shipping, packaging, bulk discounts) and the tasting room is large enough that you may avoid the crush at the bar.I was particularly impressed with their 2013 Reserve White Bacchus, an off dry white wine that was a perfect change to enhance our Christmas turkey dinner. Just thinking about it sets my mouth watering for another visit. The purchase of 2 bottles set me back just over $33.00 Cdn, worth every penny compared to the products available in local government liquor stores. I' do not believe you can buy this product outside of wine specialty stores, so it makes it a special treat for a wine lover.I found their winery tour to be thorough and well done. Our guide was knowledgable and the facilities presented a clear view as to why their product is superior. In one small space one can see their grape vines, the winery and experience the end product paired with food prepared by people with a passion for epicurean delights. In my opinion, I would certainly not hesitate to encourage visitors to the Vancouver area to jump in your car and do the 40km (20 min) drive to Langley for this experience....no matter what the season! For locals, this makes a perfect date or special event dining experience. Naturally, leave yourself open to gauging your tasting amounts to allow you to drive within consumption limits...do your large drinking at home and enjoy it. The address is noted above and the website is www.chabertonwinery.com. As stated, I advise making reservations for dining and a wine tasting, so that you do not miss the whole experience. The location is rural and I suggest that you get a map and/ or follow GPS directions. You will probably cross a toll bridge that automatically bills your car's license, so don't be surprised if you get a small bill in the mail. There are other scenic routes to follow to avoid the bridge, but they are tedious and lengthy through city traffic.

We were delighted to see the beautiful development of the Chaberton Estate Winery. While we knew nothing about their wines, we found the place while out on a Sunday drive. It definitely rivaled some ones we have seen in Napa or the Okanagan. The greeters were very welcoming - inviting us over right away to begin tastings. They are generous with their pours! The winery is known for their Bacchus wine. We had never tried that type before. It wasn't our favorite but can understand the popularity. There are lots of wine and bar related items in the gift shop.

Came here for dinner for a special celebration. Sat on the covered patio area, pleasant, warm evening. Our meal was lovely, I had lamb and my BF had the seared tuna. Both were so good, complete with a side of new potatoes with cream fraise. Dessert was just great, I had creme brûlée and BF had chocolate mousse. Began with caesar salad, dressing delicious and fresh cheese good. Wonderful dining experience. Also, did some wine tasting and purchased a few bottles at the wine shop. Definitely worth coming here, prices above average but not over the top. Limited dining hours and days and do advise a reservation.

We were visiting from the UK and had never experienced Canadian wines. We visited Chaberton and were so pleasantly surprised. Excellent wines and knowledgable staff made for a memorable experience. Would recommend a visit. Thank you.

This jewel makes wonderful wines. Not only can you do a tasting in the facility, but on the grounds they provide you with umbrella'd picnic tables so that you can enjoy a bottle of wine and have a full on picnic. They even provide you with glasses, all you need is to bring the picnic and friends. great place

The staff was very knowledgable and helpful and the wine was delicious! Even taught me how to properly taste wine. The unoaked Chardonnay was our favorite

Chaberton Estate Winery offers a picnic in the park , a bottle or two of excellent wines and if you feel the need a excellent lunch or dinner in the restaurant. A real treat on any day, ride your bike or take a drive through the countryside and pick up a taste of chaberton , it is worth the time and effort.

We had done the wine tour on a previous visit (and it was very worthwhile doing) so we headed straight to the tasting room. Kim helped us and was both friendly and knowledgeable. The winery was busy, but they brought in extra staff so we were able to continue our tasting and conversation with him. We bought white wine as well as some wine jellies which Kim said would go well with cheese and crackers as starters (and we can't wait to try them). We then went to have lunch at the Bacchus Restaurant and all three of us enjoyed our food and the ambiance.

This winery's professional marketing puts that of their local competitors to shame. From the warm welcome in the tasting room to the excellent food in the bistro, a visit is a pleasure.

We had a noon lunch reservation on a Thursday in May. Even though there was a gate to access the restaurant area, it was chained and we had to walk through the wine shop then back outside to get to it. The restaurant was pretty busy but there were plenty of tables still available both inside and out. Service was moderately pleasant, and the atmosphere was quite nice with a pleasant view out to the vineyards. While the french onion soup looked amazing and the onions and broth were nice, the flavour of the cheese was sorely lacking. My husband's pork rillet was good but not exceptional. My main was Lois Lake Steelhead - a nice fillet served over a bed of spinach surrounded by carrot & ginger sauce - and it was delicious. My husband's duck confit was very good although he said the green beans were underdone and the balsamic sauce it was served with was too sweet. The potatoes daphenase for us to share were a big disappointment as the potatoes were cut way too thick and the sauce hadn't thickened at all so was really just potatoes swimming in warm watery cream - we didn't eat them. The waitress did ask if she could bring us something else but the table bread was a delicious sour dough so we just ate that instead. The pink 'house wine' by the 1/2 liter was economical and delicious. Overall not a bad meal but certainly could be improved upon. Our 2 course lunch with coffee took just under 2 hours.

We started our afternoon there by visiting the wine store which had some good specials as well as lots of well priced wine. After trying a few samples we completed our purchase and added a glass of wine to enjoy on the front lawn in the sun while we waited for our dinner reservations. Dinner was amazing and good service as well. We will be going back for sure.

Had a great dinner out at the bistro at this winery. Domaine de Chaberton has put together a great dinner menu and offers their wines, of course. Try the reserve Chardonay- very good. Good service, very tasty meal, nice little setting, all and all, well worth the pretty little country drive to get there.

One of the best wineries I've seen. Huge estate. Clean. Tour was great. Guide was very informative. Wines tasted great. Bought a couple. Recommend their white wine.

We missed the tour due to a long (and amazing) lunch at Bacchus Bistro. After lunch, we headed straight to the tasting room, and were treated to samples of some excellent wines. The tasting room was inviting and the staff were very friendly, which is not the case at some wineries. We were given a good opportunity to sample the wine, and ask questions. We ended up purchasing a number of bottles based on our tasting. All in all, a good experience.
