Not a great year to try a new place but we did. We usually go to Whistler, but wanted to check out this place. With more snow think it would be great but trying to figure out the runs with so little snow was difficult. We didn't stay on the mountain so not sure about the lodges, wasn't very impressed with the food choices for lunch on the mountain, but didn't go hungry either. Prices were defiantly cheaper than Whistler, will defiantly have to try it again!

But looks like it would be a great mountain with good coverage and even some powder. Complimentary tours are a great thing to take advantage of, very friendly and informative hosts.

This has been a bad snow year in Western .Canada., Sun Peaks included. But their excellent grooming has made it possible for all four of us, of varying ability, to have a really pleasant ski holiday.

It was like skiing in Europe with mega slopes you ski anywhere you liked. Trail layer out so that low level skiers and expert skiers could me to ski together all day long.

Sun Peaks is truly the best ski resort I've ever been to! Line ups are short, which always surprises me. Beautiful views, exceptional amounts of runs from green to black. Get lunch spots too!

I am not a skier so I cannot comment on that aspect but the slopes appeared to challenging and well groomed. Aside from the skiing, there appeared very little to interest someone looking for a simple diversion for the day.

I like everything about sunpeaks even though Im not a skier, the scenery, the people, the resturants and pubs, golfing, summer ..concerts, lots of activities and ski races throughout the winter, year round really, local talent, all the local shops up there for the tourists and the locals to, just a great place for the tourists from all over the world and our locals to

Our second trip here from Australia. Definitely worth the distance travelled. Quaint village with plenty of ski in out options. Family, group, couple friendly. Good restaurants. A couple of pubs...no clubs! And then there are the mountains... 1 village, 3 mountains to ski. Even though the snow hasn't been the best this year, there are heaps of runs available for all abilities. Blue skies, wide sweeping slopes....what's not to love????

If you don't like travelling long distances with a couple of flights then stick to Europe! If you don't mind the travel and what a 3 fantastic hills and awesome snow then Sun Peaks has everything. Even with a lack of snow in BC this year, the grooming has been first class and the skiing has been great. If you want nightlife and bars like Whistler, go to Whistler. Sun Peaks is friendly and cosy. Have been here 5 times in the last 9 years (only started skiing 9 years ago), think that speaks for itself.

A wonderful family friendly mountain. Great summer venues and hiking. The best skiing in Canada, dry snow and sunny skies most of the winter.

I was expecting this to be a very beginner/intermediate oriented mountain, which it is. But there's actually some really fun terrain and little hikes up top for advanced skiers and riders too. Their park is also out of this world and the village is pretty ballin'.LET IT SNOW! :)

Visited Sun Peaks in early February 2015 when most of the PNW had little or no snow. We found lots at Sun Peaks. The bottom was definitely spring skiing, but we found some fresh powder at the top of the mountain. I really liked the variety of terrain from easy groomers to bowls. Sun Peaks has definitely focused on families so their express chairs are mostly green and blue runs. The Burfield chair is long and slow, so an upgrade here would be nice.

We discovered Sun Peaks about 14 years ago, recommended by our Travel Agent (Karen @ Travelplan) when booking Whistler. We have since been to Sun Peaks 4 times, and never returned to Whistler; and the main & simple reason is, the quality of snow.Weather is weather, and no-one can guarantee the outcome during your vacation, but, sitting in the Lodge's hot tub most afternoons, I talked to MANY travellers who had been elsewhere this season, experienced very poor conditions elsewhere, and had come to Sun Peaks for better snow; and each remarked how significantly better it was. Not saying it was perfect champagne powder all the time, but better than others.Made up of 3 mountains, Mt Morrisey is our clear favourite, but due to the village being a centre to the 3 mountains radiating out, there are slopes facing all compass directions, providing sunshine choice when another may be in shadow, and protection from wind, when an apposing facing slopes may be effected. A Very good balance of green runs to double black diamond, not heavily proportioned to expert skiers like some other ski resorts.Although not personally experienced, we also saw a lot of Nordic skiers, who (remarking over lunches) were very happy with the terrain offered. Also have to say, Sun Peaks have some of the best quality Grooming ever experienced. Loads of corduroy very well done.Sun Peaks as a Ski Area is also more than just skiing. It's a great village, quaint & personal, with some very good restaurants. Convenience store, 3 rental shops (loved Jardines), retail and more.Sun Peaks Adventure Centre also organise and provide opportunity to :-SnowmobilingSnow ShoeingDog SleddingSleigh RidesGroomer Rides and moreAlso, organised tours to see the local Kamloops Blazers play Hockey of an evening. The quintessential Canadian experience for a traveller, sitting with the locals who passionately support their hockey team. What a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the Kamloops Blazers vs Seattle Thunderbirds, with the locals winning 4:3. Saw some fancy foot work, and the obligatory biff. Got to appreciate the level of skill & athleticism these players bring to the game.Lastly, we asked for and were quoted for a very similar 3 week experience for Park City USA, and this Sun Peaks Vacation was over 40% cheaper. Same quality of ski in/skiout position accom, season pass, hi-perf rental gear, flights from Australia, very apples for apples. How could one justify that cost difference ?Sun Peaks should certainly be on your short list when choosing your next ski vacation.

This is my local mountain. It has lots of runs for all different kinds of skiers. We have do have more snow than the coastal resorts and I count myself lucky to live in the area. A best kept secret that is starting to get out and so it should.
