A pretty half hour drive from Kamloops with a photo worthy peek a boo view of Paul Lake, Down home family fun without the commercial hype. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Love the campfire when you go tubing!!! Perfect for families who are down to earth, fun loving and health conscious! Easy on the wallet too!

I like Harper, the staff are friendly and it isn't overpriced. I had an accident and needed urgent first aid. The first aid attendants are volunteers and the one who came to help me was very inexperienced. It took them 2 hours to get me off the mountain (I was a few city blocks from the main lodge) and then it was 3 hours before the ambulance arrived. I was told later that EMS was low priority due to the first aid saying I was not hurt badly. I literally almost died largely due to how inexperienced the first aid responder was. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital before I could go home to recover. My recovery was significantly longer due to the delay I had receiving medical treatment. Just be very carful when skiing this hill. Don't get hurt!

This is the start of a Family Mtn...Smaller and less expensive than the big Mtn resorts..Harper has fun for all including a tube park and campfire setting for everyone..Although there is no hotels at Harper..Kamloops is a close 35min drive.

If you are not into the scene and crowds at the big resorts you might love Harper mountain. Parking, rentals, lift tickets - everything is easy, no hassles, no lineups. Staff are friendly. Its a bit like stepping back in time, and great for families. No glitz, no music pounding out of shops, just snow, lifts and a simple lodge. Our daughter has done several lessons with different instructors and they have all been great. Cost is maybe 1/2 of a big resort.

This is what ski resorts were before there were ski resorts. The basic rustic lodge has a "homey" feel with a fireplace thats always on.Very friendly, supportive staff makes the novice feel comfortable and the uncrowded lift lines ensure more time skiing and less waiting. At almost half the price of "bigger" mountains, Harper is great for families, with enough variety of runs for the first timer to the expert. Great cheeseburgers at the cafeteria as well!

The hill is perfect for family skiing at an affordable price. The day we skied (in Dec) was +6 degrees and raining. :( No fault of the ski hill

We rented x-country skiis and zoomed around the x-country area. It only cost $12/person for a few hours of skiing. Amazing.

It doesn't look much when you arrive but it was a brilliant little ski area with plenty of nice long runs & not crowded. The facilities aren't posh but they have everything you need & everyone was friendly. The tubing looked great fun but we didn't have time.

Winter fun for everyone! You can ski, snowboard, and our personal favorite, TUBING. Afterwards, there is a fireplace to sit by, and hot chocolate or lunch you can buy, and ALL of the activities are very reasonably priced.

Harper mountain is only 20 min from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada and offers something for everyone, from enjoying the 1400 vertical feet of elevation on over 400 acres of terrain, to the always popular Tube Park and for those a bit more daring a Terrain Park. One of the activities offered that other local ski resorts don't is night skiing/riding and tubing two nights of the week (see the website for details).A must for anyone is a visit to the tube park at night as they have open fires for cooking your smores on.Harper Mountain has a cozy log Day Lodge that offers hot food and drinks from a family run cafeteria (I would recommend the poutine). There is also a rental shop and repair facility as well.Driving to the hill is not that difficult with plenty of parking when you arrive.I have always found the staff to be friendly and will spend the time to stop and help you have any questions. The only negative comment on harper mountain is that although the cost is a lot less than the other local ski hills there is not a annual tube park pass.Well worth a visit.
