This is a wonderful place to bring visitors to show them the tourist center Williams Lake has with the theme of nature and the great wild west. I have also obtained travel info. here as well as been to Christmas craft sales.

This has to be the best looking tourist centre I have seen, with plenty of information but unless you really want to go hiking there really is not a lot to do or see (excluding countryside). Activity wise and places of interest for the Tourist are not there. If passing through and need a night's rest, go for it. But don't plan too much time here.

We arrived in the late afternoon and called two tour companies this one responded promptly and we arrived first thing in the am and were just about the only ones on the double decker bus. The gentleman who chauffeured us about town had a witty friend who knew his history and did a great job of informing us of all the historic places in town. He also told us where we could tour free of charge and we proceeded to do just that for the rest of the morning and half the afternoon. Thankyou Roddie

During March and April, we traveled 13,000 miles through the United States and Canada. The Tourism Discovery Center was one of the nicest visitors centers that we visited. The building is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and ti top it off, the center is pet-friendly.

It was new building with a great commitment to helping! They assisted us in finding a great lunch spot along with giving us directions to Prince George!

Starting with the log/tree design of the building through the log cabin, you will find stuff for all ages. The Discovery Centre is geared at 3 age goups: the kids, the adventurous and the mature.

lots of parking available - easy to get to from the highway - easy to see where the entrance is etc. as it is right there as you get into the town - nice people although they could use uniforms that fit ! - great displays - also a place to get a coffee and some local goods that are for sale there

You are welcomed by a beautiful log building constructed by a local, world renowned log builder. Once inside you can enter a log cabin, sit on a sofa & watch a video of a fishing lodge/holiday. Each attraction throughout the Centre shows attractions geared at each of the 3 age groups: Children, Youthful Adventurer, Mature Sightseers. A great introduction to the area and it's history.

This is a definite must see for travellers to learn more about the area. Enjoy your stay in Williams Lake, it is one of those little known gems of the Cariboo.

I visit this building on a regular basis. Love the massive logs used in the construction of this breath taking building. Good coffee, friendly, knowledgeable staff. A must stop when travelling thru Williams Lake.
