Other than the grand old house and the double-barn, there is not much else to see at Cottonwood House Historic Site. The food is good and so is the hospitality. They do offer informative historic tours.

We were looking for a campground in the quesnel area. By mistake when we stopped to tour the cottonwood historic site we realized it offered small clean cabins, RV sites, and camping. What a deal in a clean well maintained historic site. They have a restaurant with awesome homemade food. Even pies. The people who work at the site are very friendly and informative. It was a treat to learn about the history of the area and current events. I was so happy to stay at this clean quiet campground What disappointed me was this jewel was not advertised as an overnight place to stay even when I had googled camping in quesnel prior. This is a definite place to stay. We rented a cabin with 2 sets of bunk beds for $50. Camping would even be more cost effective. Heck the showers are even free!
