On our recent retreat to Bowen Island we made a point of including a couple of Kayak trips through Bowen Island Kayaking. As a warm up a few hours of renting and exploring Bowen's shores by Kayak is a wonderful way to become acquainted with what makes this island special...the local business people who strive to make us visitors fell at home, the natural beauty of the land, and the peace and excitement that being out on the water can provide. The 3 hr rental experience prepared us for the next day's Paisley island trip on the western side of Bowen. The tandem kayak supplied for us was stable and every bit able to handle some big swells. Loved exploring the smaller western islands only accessable by boat with our guide Lisa, a local, and soaking up the beautiful sunshine, picniking and the triumphant feeling when we finally returned to shore. Brent the owner was really helpful and informative and knowledgable. Go for it, you'll be glad you did it.

My husband and I recently had two excursions with BISK and both guides were knowledgeable and very experienced. Lisa and Martin went beyond in each instance which enhanced our experience on Bowen Island. The sunset paddle was special and the scenery etched in my mind for sometime to come. Perfect conditions, great boats and great conversation made it a very special paddle! Martin had some really cool and interesting stories! Thanks to Lisa, Martin and the BISK crew for making our paddling on Bowen memorable.

Had a great time. The staff were helpful and the scenery was beautiful. We saw a curious family of seals out in the water. The rates were decent although they would not let us rent for a two hour block so we had to pay for three despite only being able to kayak for two of those.

What an amazing experience and the staff here were so helpful, knowledgable, and kind. If you've never kayaked around Bowen Island, you are really missing out on a truly wonderful experience. It was amazing to see seals right next to you and the mountains all around you. Will definitely be back.

The sunset kayak trip was the capstone to our week on Bowen Island. We were both looking forward to paddling Howe Sound and luckily the weather broke on Monday, May 26th just in time for this experience. Our guide, Brent, was wonderful as we paddled up the sound between the island and the mainland. It was an amazing evening of learning about the area, seeing the mountains from a different angle, and enjoying the rolling waves. I highly recommend the experience! We were even treated to a rainbow over Vancouver just as the sun was setting over the rocky hills. Just amazing. Thank you for the perfect end to our vacation!

We had the morning in Vancouver before our cruise ship left, and this was a great, easy option. We had a rental car for the day and got perfect instructions on how to get to the ferry for Snug Cover on Bowen Island, which costs $11 roundtrip, and leave our car at the ferry parking lot. The company matched our needs for timing to be sure we got on the 8 a.m. ferry out and on the 12:30 p.m. return ferry, since the next one didn't go until 3 p.m. and was too late for us to easily check in for our cruise. We had some kayak experience, and the owner graciously suggested we could just rent without a guide, save a few bucks and paddle up the shore, since it was a gorgeous, calm, non-windy day. Terrific way to spend a few hours. Highly recommend it.

As there is not to much to do on Bowen Island kayaking is a must although not cheap this is a great experience. The kayak rental office is located right on the dock at Snug Cove, easy to find and get to. The staff are friendly and easy going and didn't waste anytime getting us loaded and into our kayaks. We begun our 3 hour guided trek due to lack of experience in kayaks and fear of hitting the big open ocean alone. Tour was a great idea as we probably would not have kayaked as far on our own. It was an awesome paddle, lots to look at such as the beautiful mountains and homes clinging to the rocky shores of Bowen Island, even saw a sea otter. Definitely give this adventure a two thumbs up!

We signed up for the evening paddle option with a guide for a very reasonable rate. The guide was very personable and provided great instruction through out the paddle. The shop is located just steps from the ferry and would make for a great day trip or if you choose to stay on the island it was easy to walk to/from the many B&B's in the area. The scenery around the island is gorgeous and you can't beat the views from the water. We drove from Vancouver, rented 4 double & 2 single kayaks which were delivered with our guide to Tunstall Bay. We kayaked for a few hours, mixed group, some beginners ....and had a wonderful day and back in Vancouver for dinner. It was easy to arrange, the staff were helpful and there were no hassles even though none of us had been there before . Great idea for a family trip or a team-building company excursion !

We rented 2 kayaks here and had alot of fun cruising around the island. Staff was very helpful with preparation, advice on where to go, and they also had changing areas. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended as a day trip from Vancouver!
