Thanks, EarthGuide, for taking the time to write a review. We're happy you enjoyed all aspects of the Fundy Explorer day tour! You're absolutely right when assuming that we use tandem kayaks only for extra stability as the conditions on the Bay of Fundy can change in an instant. We let people know upon booking that they'll share a fast and sporty yet stable double kayak. Since applying this policy we have reduced the number of capsizes to virtually none, which is great for everyone.

Hi folks, thanks for taking the time to write a review about our day tour, this is very much appreciated! Cape Chignecto park is truly a spectacular kayaking location, and we're happy that our guides made the Fundy Explorer day tour a special one for you to enjoy. It would surely be great to see you again one day! When our guests arrive at our office to be outfitted, we provide detailed maps with a description of how to find our launch area. We explain to everyone how to get there, and then hand our guests a map to take with. We never had any issues with this practice. We like to run a low-key, eco-friendly business in a remote spot. There are lots of signs in the area leading guests to our office, so no one ever got lost. What makes us happy as well is that people are almost always right on time when arriving at our offices. This might have been the 1 day out of 100 in a season where this didn't happen. I hope you still enjoyed the beautiful scenery and entertaining guides while you were waiting. I'm sorry our lunch/picnic did not meet your expectations regarding quantity. We do serve a smoked piece of salmon on a cracker just as an amuse bouche, followed by a freshly tossed salad that comes straight from our garden and includes a home-made maple syrup dressing, pecans, craisins, fruit and 2 types of cheese. We serve home-baked beer bread with butter to go with it, plus fruit (usually pineapple) and muffins. There usually is plenty of hot water and a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. We often get compliments for this lunch, and people are grateful for the break they get from fish & chips ;). We don't use any 'throw-away' items for plates, cups and containers as we believe in being green. The same goes for wasting food. Over the years, we have developed just the right portions, and still have left-overs after most tours. Our day tours are special in that we run them in a remote wilderness area. With other operators, you will only go remote on overnight tours. So, comparing apples to apples, you will find that our prices are very consumer-friendly with a quality healthy lunch we throw in where you might be served a granola bar and a banana elsewhere.

We are over 60 years young and we took on sea kayaking with excitement. The guide was Anne and she was so accommodating and we had the best time. It was so beautiful and we really got to see the extreme tidal changes going out and coming back, one inch an hour! Anne prepared the nicest beach picnic for us with the checkered table cloth spread on the sandy beach and hot chocolate to warm us. It was so peaceful and we were at one with nature. Best of all, we felt very accomplished to have easily kayaked at sea with some wind even and had no problem doing it.

There was nothing negative to advise for this trip! The sights and sounds of the ocean were amazing, the lunch provided was fantastic and the guide was phenomenal!! Definitly on the "to do again" list next summer

My daughter wanted me to have a memorable birthday, some kind of adventure. This she succeeded in doing. I was a bit hesitant for my first time kayaking and on the ocean, but that was soon erased from my mind as our Guide Anthony went over the techniques and dispelled any fears. We headed out to what would soon become the most amazing adventure! My daughter promised to get me back to shore if I needed to (even though I had the controls). Not to worry, as time went by I relaxed and it got easier and the Guide checked on our progress ongoing. I'm not sure you could wipe the smile off my face as we paddled past rock faced cliffs, or meandered around the rock formations and in and out of sea caves. There was something new and interesting around every corner. It was a mix of fun and laughter and shear beauty. We had a taste of natures best even singing in nature's amphitheatre. Who knew the words to Lion King? An hour and half flew by when we were approaching the beach at Eatonville, the site of an 1800's shipbuilding site. It was as if it were planned, an unsuspecting visitor, a young deer was standing on the shore awaiting our arrival. Our Guide gently persuaded it to move along. We had a lovely lunch prepared fresh for us on the beach while we explored the shoreline or basked in the warm sun. Allowances were made for my food allergy and that was greatly appreciated. When we left the beach to head back to Spicer's Cove the tide had started to recede rapidly. We were in awe at the difference an hour makes in the Bay of Fundy, especially how quickly the tide went out. The shoreline had changed it's appearance completely as though a new stage were set for our entertainment. Our Guide was very well versed in the local history as well as the geological landscape and wildlife in the area. He made the trip relaxing, entertaining and most importantly safe and memorable. Thank you NovaShores Adventures, especially Anthony, for making this the best experience ever and a most memorable birthday adventure!

We had a great time paddling the Bay of Fundy and experiencing the sites from our kayaks, and the massive tides. One of our group was a bit apprehensive about this kind of adventure, but everything was managed so well, and John, our guide, looked after everything (even the great lunch!). We're looking forward to next time.

Do this if you're visiting Nova Scotia! 100%! We went on the Seal Cove overnight trip and had a wonderful time! I have only good things to say about the trip and NovaShores. The staff are gracious, friendly, well-trained and educated. The area is a provincial park and is a great way to avoid crowds and see nature. Our guide, Jon, was super nice and we felt completely taken care of. It was essentially luxury camping, all we had to do was bring our own sleeping bags and clothes.

We arrived at the appointed time for our adventure and were greeted by Anne and Anthony with all pre kayak preparations and instructions presented to us with the highest of courtesy and professionalism. By the time we reached the launch point, the boats were prepared and ready for the adventure. We travelled with Anthony as our guide and were treated to a wealth of knowledge of the history and lore of this area of Nova Scotia. The time on water was most enjoyable with the views and wild life abundant.Anthony prepared a "gourmet" lunch which we all enjoyed. This adventure rates with any activity in Atlantic Canada, made extra special by both Anne and Anthony. A most enjoyable 20th August.

We had a great time kayaking. Started in heavy fog, then beautiful sunshine, then clouds rolling in. We had just finished our tasty lunch when the rain started to fall. Even paddling in the rain was fun. Thanks for the wonderful time. Guides were informative, fun and always safety conscious. We really appreciate having the guides taking pictures and setting up some really great pictures to show all our jealous friends and family!

The best kayaking trip I've ever had. Beautiful views and all-around fun day with the nicest of company. Only disappointment is that we couldn't stay longer.

Took the family on this beautiful paddle in the Bay of Fundy. The day started with waiver sign in and life jacket/skirt pick up. The staff were super friendly. You need to then drive to the launch about 20 minutes away. They provide a map and you do hit gravel roads. The quick instructions by our guide were just enough and off we went in tandem kayaks. The paddle is leisurely and our guide entertained us with facts and legend. Our kids (10 & 12) could easily keep up although they have paddled before.Lunch was provided and was salad with bread and muffins. Quite tasty just right for a nature expedition. Scenery was gorgeous with great company. Props to our guide Landon who says he is usually "that other guy" in most of these reviews.

If you’re looking for a fun adventure to do in Nova Scotia, NovaShores is it!I’m a bit of a weekend warrior when it comes to outdoor pursuits, so I like to pack as much into my days off as possible. I decided to go on the Seal Cove overnight tour to get a bit of a longer paddle and for the experience of camping on a beach. I was not disappointed! Anne and Anthony think of everything and had delicious meals available for us (as local as possible, and better than anything I could have cooked at home) as well as little comforts to ensure that you are not missing anything (like sleeping pads). Our guide, Landon, was excellent at bringing everyone in the group together and making sure we were entertained with trivia about the area and ideas for things to do during solo time. We opted to go for an evening paddle at high tide to explore some sea structures and even had a seal come to see us off the next morning! If you’re considering kayaking in the Bay of Fundy, I’d highly recommend looking at the overnight trip for a one of a kind experience.

This kayaking trip was such fun and the guides made it all so easy. The scenery was beautiful and our lunch/snack was delicious. We felt like we were with a group of friends. Kayaking and Advocate Harbour is a must do on any trip to Nova Scotia.

Anthony and Anne of NovaShores Adventures pulled all the stops to make our kayaking tour a spectacular one. We drove to the village of Advocate Harbour, which is on point looking out to the Bay of Fundy. In glorious sunshine, we kayaked along the shore, through the three sisters,(spectacular sea stacks,) negotiating tunnels in the jagged cliffs. It was stunning! At high tide we were able to travel along the river, which then vanished as the water retreated. Bald eagles watched us from the tree tops. We stopped at a beach for a delicious lunch provided by our guides. (Only caveat - more protein needed for the very hungry teens !) We were a big group - 11 people - and everything was superbly organized. Unequivocally the best kayaking trip I've done. Do not miss this.

Enjoyable day on the Bay! NovaShores assured us that a great white would not capsize the kayak and introduced us to Beer bread. A very calm, relaxing day enjoying the coastline. An excellent deviation to car rides and biking!
