Thanks for the great review. What is so great about it is that it tells it like it is with our boat adventures on the largest tides on earth of the upper Bay of Fundy, where we occasionally have to come up with solutions to the extremes of nature that we work with daily. For others thinking of coming with us: It is a spectacular ecosystem, but also very different from anything you might have experienced with boat tours in the past as we cannot, like on most boat tours, launch from a developed wharf as there isn't water at the wharf much of the time. So we launch many days from beaches. But when you drain a body of ocean water of 40 vertical feet of ocean in 6 hours and then have it all flow back in over the next 6 hours you have to do what those amazing tides allow you to do. Those tides also differ in time and height each day. And then there is what the beaches allow as they can go from large rock to soft sand and we often have to move our launch and return spots to be able to depart or come back in. Throw into the mix a ecosystem so powerful that it creates its own weather as those huge tides flood the bay each day, sometimes creating unpredictable wind or fog. So to have flexible, understanding people join us, such as this reviewer, is wonderful as you can see we do our best with what nature offers. That may mean a juggling of timing, or even destination at times - but we are wanting to give you the best experience we can so even with that juggling you will have a unique, fun and often exciting adventure. We hope you can make it back up sometime Lisa and Jon!

Thanks for the great review Brian, its always fun being out with such an enthusiastic guest as yourself. The photos you shared with us were excellent and we have posted them on our facebook page - hope to see you again!

Thanks for the excellent review of our service to supply transport to Isle Haute. A bit different than one of our tours but as you witnessed, the logistics of such a excursion on the largest tides on earth of the upper Bay of Fundy, which makes its own weather due to the huge changes in tide every 6 hours, is a adventure in itself!

Thanks for the wonderful review that has a great explanation of what we can do. For those reading this and thinking it is something to do here are some pointers. It is a offshore excursion in a area of extreme weather changes. You need to be prepared to spend more time there if weather prevents a pickup. It is only for people used to the outdoors, fit and adventuresome. You need to be able to take care of yourselves - we only supply the transport - which is a fascinating excursion in itself. We reserve the right to shorten your stay if weather is predicted that might prevent pickup, to avoid a possible search and rescue air evacuation. The best way to see the island is on one of our every day tours you can read about on our website - and for which the majority of our reviews are from.

Thanks for the review of a foggy day ride Karen. Regardless of if it is a clear or fog day the experience is unique as the tides and cliffs of Cape Split are always a awe inspiring sight. We are still often spellbound by the power of the tides, after all the times we have witnessed it.

Yes, this was a memorable day with perfect conditions and just as perfect guests. As the saying goes, "it doesn't get much better than this".

Thanks for letting us help you get that off your to do list Su' and we greatly appreciate the review. After running the NovaShores Adventures kayaking for so many years its great to get some feedback for our first year of running the new boating adventures. Now that you have seen the shores of the mysterious Isle Haute we hope you can join us to take in the tidal power of Cape Split!

Thanks for the excellent review Susanne, we hope you do get back to join us on another tour soon!

Thanks for sharing your advice here on TA for those contemplating a tour with Advocate Boat Tours academic1. Isle Haute is truly one of the most unique places in Nova Scotia and we were pleased to be able to share it with you and your friends. Hope to see you again soon!

Wow Daloris, thanks for sharing your impression of Advocate Boat Tours. As a new business we appreciate your advice to travellers to this remote region of Nova Scotia.

Thanks for the wonderful recommendation and advice. It wa a fun tour with the full moon large tides running strong at the cape, one of those days when the saying about the tidal rips at Cape Split being the 'voice of the moon' is given credence. Of course having such a knowledgeable, interested group as yours is with us helps when exploring places of such geological and natural wonder.... We look forward to you joining us again sometime.

Hi Jane, thanks for the review. Cape Split truly is a awe inspiring place, especially from the water. I have hiked the trail several times and we often see hikers at the tip - lots of excited pointing and cameras out when they spot the boat. It doesn't give as much exercise as the trail does but for dramatic views and a sense of the true power of the largest tides on earth I would say the boat offers more. Many think it is impossible to run through the cape and it does need to be timed - but we have also found it is even more impressive to arrive earlier in the flood cycle to watch the rips, like we did with you. In fact, due to your tour we will probably adjust our timing a bit to see more of the rips and how we can actually sit below sea level as Scots Bay is higher than the Minas Channel as the tide floods into the bay.

Hi Brenda, thanks for the excellent review, its great that we were the highlight of your trip to Nova Scotia! We are fairly casual with the time we spend on the tours, unless we have two tours scheduled and need to get in for the next one. But the experience will, as you experienced, be longer than just the boat tour as we have the reception and short drive to launch area. In fact, when dealing with a force of nature as powerful as we do with the largest tides on earth of the Bay of Fundy which in itself can create its own weather - it is best for guests to be a bit flexible themselves as we may have to change launch spots or lengthen or shorten a tour depending on what mother nature feels like dishing up on her varied menu that day. The Three Sisters at Isle Haute are not the same as the ones we marketed for years when we ran the sea kayaking as NovaShores, but if anything the setting at Cape Split is even more impressive! Hope you can return some time...

Hi Tanya, we are so glad that you did decide to come on out. The fog often lifts and even if it doesn't it just adds some mystery to the experience. If its a open water crossing it can mean we travel quite slow, but along the shores it doesn't make a lot of difference in our small zodiac style boat. Hope you get to join us again!
