Beautiful place to spend an hour, especially during winter months. Admission is normally by donation. Very pretty flowers, plants, trees, cacti, and even some little ladybugs and preying mantises. Also wonderful lighting to take photos, as the sunlight is diffused through the foggy windows of the greenhouse. Recommended!

Outside it is white snow and a bitter soul freezing wind chill, inside a few panes of glass, there is a tropical paradise of yellow lemons and green limes hanging from a dense foliage. Pink, red and yellow hibiscus are in bloom and sparkling water flows over glistening rocks. There are wooden benches to sit and enjoy this summer in paradise which is located in the heart of a wintry Thunder Bay. Signage is subtle but thankfully present for those who appreciate a little learning with their trip to this green oasis. The site is easily accessible by a loved one requiring a walker. A donation column stands inside the front door.

I luv that they change it up with the seasons and have the flowers relating to that Holiday or season.

It was nice to reminisce with my Mom as we walked around in the tropical centre section. Was interesting seeing the huge Ponderosa lemons and coffee tree with beans in varying degrees of ripeness. Only took about 10 minutes to tour, as the one end that used to be seasonal displays is now more a plant nursery, and the cactus end was locked up as it appears all the 'safety glass' is gone from in front of the displays, therefore probably a liability issue. Noticed all the amethyst in the rockery just inside for the 1st time, after dozens of visits over the years!

The plants and flowers were nice. It was very small. You can give a donation. Probably take you know more than 15 minutes to see all.

Relaxing gem in the city. Beautiful displays change as plants bloom and fruit; nice to visit anytime of year. Hope cactus room reopens soon.

I have always loved our conservatory. It is a great attraction to take the grandkids, seniors or guests - especially in the middle of winter. As a photographer I love to see the changing scenes within as the tropical plants, flowers & fruit trees go thru their phases. I never get tired of a full-on hibiscus in bloom. There is no charge however there is a donation tower if you feel like dropping a few dollars in support of this attraction. On occasion the adjoining viewing rooms are not available for public viewing. That being the cactus room and special event room (poinsettia's in December, lilies at Easter etc) Please take the time to sign the guest book with your hometown and comments. My personal favourite event was a few years ago being able to view one of the agave plants in bloom. Known as a century plant, it only blooms once in a lifetime and it was spectacular! I hope you have a once in a lifetime experience in our very own Botanical Conservatory.

I have stopped here at all seasons of the year and find it to be a delight. Well established plants (opened in 1968) seem healthy and create a world apart from the busy city around it. There are many amethyst walls around the ponds, waterfalls, and plantings. Separate room for cactus is so interesting and some seasonal flower displays at holidays. Nice place. Be sure to donate a bit of cash as there is no admittance fee.

First visited last year and was so glad, lived in town and never made it before. Very glad we did, walk through when we can. Beautiful plants, flowers, warm and cosy in the long winter. Enjoyed a winter wedding one day. All locals should check it out an enjoy it.
