Thunder Bay Art Gallery has a huge space, so set aside at least an hour or two to see everything. Their exhibits are well chosen, meticulously set up and well chosen. The space accommodates larger pieces as well, so the sky is the limit as far as what you will see. The staff and volunteers are remarkably friendly and welcoming, as they are art lovers too. The location is easy to find and parking is simple. Artisan work is available in the gift shop, so this is definitely a destination for unique and local gift buying. Recommended!

I attended the Gallery this afternoon and was really glad I took the time. The Michael Anderson exhibit of carvings was extraordinary.Etchings by George Raab were wonderful and spectacular.John Hartman's renderings were certainly thought provoking about " A view from Collins."This is a truly must see Gallery offering.

I wasn't sure about stopping by this gallery, but I had a bit of time by myself after arriving in Thunder Bay before the rest of my family arrived, so I checked it out. I'm very glad I did. This is a small museum, as another reviewer noted. There are three gallery rooms, one of large/moderate size and two smaller rooms, as well as a few outdoor sculptures and a small display in the entrance.Viewing all the exhibits and visiting the gift shop took a little less than an hour. But, even though my visit was short, I got a lot out of it. The exhibits complemented each other beautifully - when I went, there was a mix of media on display (paintings, stained glass, masks), and a mix of styles (traditional West Coast First Nations style, contemporary political aboriginal art). And, the gift shop had prints and other small items from similar artists who were not on display. If you like First Nations art, you won't be disappointed. Is it worth a trip to Thunder Bay just to come here? Ok, probably not. But if you're in the area anyway, it's definitely worth an hour of your time and the $3 admission.

Lots to see in the three gallery rooms. We also loved the handcrafted items in the gift shop- mostly jewelry and books. Free parking was a bonus.

Were rather disappointed with the very limited number of pieces, but what they had was nice. Lots of room, so hoping there are plans and arrangements to acquire many more pieces.
