We can't say enough about the caliber of the theater at every level - the acting company, back of stage, directors, artistic director and management. Every detail of every performance is the best of the best. We have tickets to 11 plays for this coming season if anyone doubts our excitement and support commitment for the theater. They offer two for one Tuesday and Thursdays and some Sundays. So price should not be an issue. We are seeing a play in NYC in April and their ticket prices make Stratford prices a bargain.

I live in the area so am partial to these theatres. The shows are excellent. Production and actors are spectacular.

My daughter and I try to get to Stratford every year to experience all of the different live performances that are available. We always see the musical, and this is at athe Stratford Festival theatre. We walked there from our B&B, enjoyed the beautiful walk along the riverfront, viewed the beautiful gardens, and then the trumpets come out and sound off that it is time to get to your seat. Great lighting, comfortable seats, not too cold, easy to get to the restrooms, overall just a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this to all, older children, young adults, couples, elderly etc. Must do!

You won't find any better theatre than in Stratford, we have 4 of them and they each have their own distinct feel to them.Acting is first rate and the musicals are awesome.A couple of years ago, they produced the rock opera "Tommy" I went three times to see it, it was the most spectacular peformance.I would highy recommend any of the theatres here.

This is simple amazing theatre. The productions are engaging, interesting and beautifully presented. The history of the theatre is vitally important to the world of theatre.Be prepared to be moved.

I plan to visit Stratford again this summer. We love it there. It is a charming place to visit as well as having first class professional theatre--musicals, Shakespeare, you name it.. There are other communities around it that are fun to visit as well. A few miles over is one of the Great Lakes. I recommend Molly Blooms's Irish for a great lunch and/or a fantastic dinner.

I have been to Stratford many times over the years and have never been disappointed from when I saw Paul Scofield and John Colicos in Coriolanus. The theater and actors are all wonderful although sometimes the casting could be more on the mark even if the actors are splendid. I have never stayed the night preferring to drive home even if it is a couple of hours away so cannot give input as to accommodations. My only real complaint is that some of the music in these productions should be recorded and sold in the gift shop instead of disappearing forever.

Well worth the trip, this is professional theatre in an unlikely spot. Highlighting, but not limited to, the works of Shakespeare. For the masses, they toss in a couple of routinely spectacular musicals every season. We've never been disappointed in any of their productions.TIPS: it doesn't come cheap and it helps to do some planning to get the best bang for your buck. Good seats sell out early. It's worth it to hunt for bargain deals, especially during the week. Stratford is a pleasant Victorian town in the countryside. Don't expect big city style luxury hotels, but their are plenty of different types of accommodations.

We try to visit Stratford every year and have not been disipointed yet!Four theaters host remarkable actors in the finest stage plays ever seen anywhere.I prefer Shakespeare but there are no slackers in any of the productions here.Take in a tragedy Friday evening, a lite comedy Saturday afternoon and after a sumptuous feast at any of a dozen fine restaurants in town enjoy a love story in the evening. While you are in town take in the site's, it is a very pleasant community. This would be a great stopover to or from Toronto.Enjoy the experience, eh.

I have rarely been disappointed. The ambience of the town and the exceptional talent showcased here keep bringing me back for more. Generally speaking, the accommodation is Stratford's weak point. Too expensive for what you get and the service is often less than what one would reasonably expect for the rates charged. Unfortunately, this is often the case during the Festival season, as one would expect in what is basically a one industry town, open for less than six months a year. However, for theatre buffs, Stratford is still a "MUST". See a few plays...you will be suitably impressed.

My husband and I frequent the marvelous plays at the Stratford Festival. Our "date" begins with a beautiful lunch in our choice of Stratford's finest eateries, then we partake in the viewing of incredible plays with extremely talented actors, and ending with a picnic lunch in the park by the river. What a wonderful way to spend our Sunday dates!

Each year we makes sure to take in at least one performance at the festival theatre. This year we expanded our experience by taking in a tour as well. Candy, our guide was a delight. I am planning a return as soon as possible.

Having attended over 400 productions at the Stratford Festival since 1978, I think that I could be considered an expert on the Festival and its superb acting company. During these 30 plus years, it has been my privilege to review many of the productions both for print media and one line. Stratford remains one of the worlds great theatre companies and continues to flourish under the creative hand of new Artistic Director Antonio Cimolino. Its truly a magical place where you can see 10-12 different productions during the span of a week. What are you waiting for? Plan a visit for the summer of 2015!

This is a world-class theatre that provides a unique theatre experience. Many years ago I saw Twelfth Night and a few years ago, Macbeth and now King Lear. They always have the best talent and incredible productions, but King Lear was absolutely stellar! The theatre is situated in Upper Queen's Park by the pretty Victoria Lake.
