Its a nice place for picnic for those looking out for some fun and peace both at one time. A ferry takes you from the rush of the city to a nice and calm place. you would find rides for children, food stalls with a variety of food and the last corner a perfect view of Ontario lake for the peace lovers.

When I think of summer in Toronto, I think of Centre Island. The ferry ride ($7 round trip for adults) is a nice way to see the Toronto harbour skyline and feel like you're leaving the city for an island paradise. Once there, Centreville is a popular spot to go on rides and eat carnival food. There are also plenty of scenic places to have a picnic. Bring a frisbee to play disc golf or rent a bicycle/quadricycle to tour the island. I don't really recommend swimming, as the beach is pebbly and the water is a bit murky, but the option is there.

Centre island is my least favourite part of the islands. The farm is nice to walk around but everything else is pretty commercial. We like to rent bikes on the far side. Get away from the crowds and view the quaint cottages and lighthouse. Rectory Cafe or the island cafe have really good food compared to what is available on Centre Island. I forget about the beaches and swim areas or the boardwalk. These are all good.

Centre Island is a great spot for little kids but older kids may be bored. However the ferry ride is fun for all ages. It is surprising to see that this is such a safe, family oriented place in the middle of a major city.

This place has absolutely everything you can think of for a great day out. Beaches parks fun fair restaurants etc. An amazing family day out.The ferry operates very regularly. We hired bikes when there and this was a great way to explore the island.

Nice views of Toronto from the ferry and the island. Take a walk on the island and enjoy the scenery or stop at the restaurants / cafes and enjoy some food.

Loved the Easter Egg hunt for the kids at Centreville! It was so fun to be at the park without all the crowds. A little cold at this time of year. My older child got a little bored of all the walking (he's 10) but the youngest one loved the kiddy rides (she's 4)

all around you is green , green and green. Ride your bike, take a walk, have a picnic. Enjoy different view of TO from the island.

In this Island for sure you will not be alone ... it is nice place to picknicks and gathering with your friends ... and ride your bicicle ... Have you never been there? it is time to go!God bless you

A quick smooth ferry ride from Toronto and you are suddenly in another world. I loved the little wooden houses, it was like stepping into another era! We stayed all day as it was such beautiful weather. I was so glad we stayed. Seeing the sunset with Toronto across the water was truly breathtaking.

If you're looking for a cute/romantic date with your S/O or if you're just looking for a bit of a getaway...Centre Island is a dream come true. Pack your picnic and bring a camera because you're in for a day in the park. Plus, if you're not interested in waiting in line for the ferry call for a water taxi! Toronto Harbour Water Taxi 416-203-8294...and no....i do not work for them.

the Toronto island is a nice place to spend the day especially in the summer... the ferry ride is nice and the island itself has a few activities..

The Centre Island is definitely a best kept secret. We had the best day out with kids and teenagers. It's fun, enjoyable and a great day out. It is the complete package from the ferry ride, the views of the skyline , lush park, beach , etc etc
