I don't golf but I eat. I had opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant and I would recommend not only for the decent food but also the view. The place is specious with windows overlooking body of water and golf course. Easy accessible from highway 406. I had a pear \lettuce salad with piece of chicken that cost me $19 plus tips. Salad was good but I had feeling that I paid for ambiance more than for the food. The service was prompt, but we were the only table that was occupied. Welland is small and quiet in the middle of November. This is beautiful place in the summer and in the winter. Plenty of parking space and only 2 hour drive from Toronto. You may get good value for your money without crowds.

The overall atmosphere is hard to beat. The food however is very bland, its not bad its just not good.

I have played this course a few times over the years - and will not play there again; The fescue is cut way too close to the mostly narrow fairways - maybe 5-7 yards; a tiny bit of line and you've lost a ball - where's the fun in that? What is the necessity? I don't play as much golf as I would like to - and I don't need to subject myself to that punishment - it really takes the fun out of the game walking around in the fescue Also - the day we played it had rained - so we were 'cart path only'; but the cart path is on the opposite side of where the prevailing wind blows - so you're walking back & forth, and carrying half a dozen clubs with you life is too short to spend it at this place; not going back!

Had the pleasure of playing this fine course during a holiday from Dublin in mid june. Course was in great condition, very testing, greens true and staff friendly. Best hole has to be the par 5,18nt where you have to play over water twice. Have played several courses in the Niagara region and would rate Hunters pointe as good as any of them. Set in a lovely place called Welland and very reasonably priced. Hope to play again.

This did not start well. Heavy rain before playing and finding out that there was a golf tournament that same afternoon. However once on the course we had a blast. It was windy that day and we had to stay away from the fescue. Better have a good day with your driver and your 5 or 7 irons. Really enjoyed it and I put this one as one of my favorite.

We played H's Pointe last Saturday, in the middle of an infamous Ontario heat/humidity wave. It was great! We booked online and paid only $50each for green fees and cart. The tee boxes and greens were amazing...best we've seen since playing in Las Vegas in early spring. I am always very aware of the availability of outhouse facilities, because a lady golfer, its a pretty important feature. No problem here, though I have to say, it was so hot I guess I was sweating it all out and didn't actually have to go except at the turn. The course is a challenge but certainly not unreasonable. I have a 16ish handicap and shot 90, and finished with the same ball I started with, which is always good!

HUNTERS POINT is very, very good golf course, located in Welland just of 406 highway. I play this golf course at least 5-10 times a month. One of my favorites in Niagara region, if not best then second best. Course is always in very good conditions. It is very challenging golf course especially front nine. You pay 35 $ with cart and if you ask me it is still. Golf course has also very nice club house whit lounge and bar.Staff is very help-full.If you like golf you should definitely try HUNTERS POINT.

Played Hunters Pointe formally called Lochness Links on a sunday afternoon. This links style course has had rave reviews over the past few years. with the widening of the 406 highway , there is now the distraction of cars whizzing by at an uncomfortably close distance. This mainly affects the third hole. the course in general is nothing short of amazing. there really is nothing else like it in niagara. i would easily give this 5 stars if the round didn't take us 5 1/2 hours to play. it was backlogged on every hole with no marshall in sight.

i feel like I should qualify this review by saying im originally from the UK and have played many links courses in my time..... No matter how much they try to convince me Hunters Pointe is NOT a links course. It has a modern links layout, it looks like a links course. But it plays like a normal park land course, there is water hazards on a good number of holes, the bunkering is parkland rather then links style and the greens are very receptive. There also isn't the same sort of imagination needed in comparison to a true links golf course. Now I have that off my chest here goes............. The course is VERY good. Its tough test of golf and anyone having a good round will need the driver to be working well, accurate iron play into the large greens and once on your putter has to be working to have a good round. The greens are huge, undulating and FAST but very receptive. The two stand-out holes for me were the 9th and 18th both par fives with water in play off the tee. If you are inclined to go for the green in 2 your second shot requires a long carry over water with no bailout anywhere, its all or nothing. The one criticism I had was the slow play. I would definitely get an early morning tee time in the future as a PM tee time virtually guarantees you a four and a half hour round on the weekends. The course has a driving range and two practice putting greens to get your adequately prepared for the round ahead and for after the round the clubhouse is beautiful and the restaurant serves excellent food and has a beautiful second story patio overlooking the course.I would say its one of the top 5 courses in the Niagara Region open to the public and excellent value for money when your compare it to the Niagara Parks Golf Courses, Thundering Waters and Legends.Just don't call it a links :-)
