Loved the feel of this intimate little pub. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different craft beers available.I happened in on a Wednesday night when there was a local musician playing, felt like a little party in my living room.Definitely will go back.

Thanks Dean D for your review . I am more than a little surprised to read it. I have made Meagan aware of the reveiw and would like a chance to meet with you in person to review your concerns . Perhaps a coffee or a beer at the pub. Please let me know your availability at info@churchkeybrewing.com. John

Hi there, thank you for coming and taking the time to review The Stinking Rose Pub & Grindhouse. Music nights are often quite busy. If you are looking for a quieter experience I invite you to join us on a Monday or Tuesday evening . We have an informal team triva reading at 7pm on Mondays. Frankly my favourite time to be there. Crowds are not my thing either. You will find the staff and patrons engaging and quite entertaining. Or pop by during the day and enjoy a cappuccino or latte , or perhaps a Spanish or Irish coffee after 11am. Again Thank YouJohn

Maximum seating approx 20. Very friendly clientele! Loads of different Trivial Pursuit boxes for customer use. Good local (Churchkey) and other micro brew beer selection. I chose the Northumberland Ale (Churchkey) which I thoroughly enjoyed. Sampled the Raspberry Mead, which I would definitely drink on a nice hot summer day. Food selection was minimal. (Mostly wraps and nachos)(no wings) The wraps tasted fine and were a good size; I just found mine bland (jerk chicken). The nachos were loaded and a decent helping. There was only one staff working the night we went in, and she was pretty overwhelmed when our group of 7 adults and 3 kids came in for food and drink. Next time, will either call ahead to warn, or eat first then come here for drinks and atmosphere. There is entertainment some nights which we didn't see, but have heard that it is good.

Nice atmosphere, nice people, and a great overall experience. There's no reason to not stop in and cheers to all.

Stopped in to checkout the beers on tap as I had been to the church key brewery and was curious to see more craft beers. Small place, with cozy atmosphere. We ordered off the small pub menu, and our expectations were exceeded as we were all able to eat at the same time, (there were four of us) as well she was serving a full set of bar stools while cooking and doing drink orders. Honestly service was just great. We learned entertainment was coming and we decided to stay a bit longer. We learned that the pub opens most days at 7am for coffee which is fresh ground daily, they offer you barrista style coffees, teas, and breakfast! They are open many nights until last call! And also an offer some amazing both homegrown and from away talent on the is tiny stage, the corner of the room☺. The entertainment was great, a young woman from the ottawa region with a stage pressence of her own! More locals and tourists alike joined in throughout the night. When seats were limited people shared. Atmosphere like no other, and the server/bartender even seemed to enjoy the music between all the running.Definetly worth the visit! Definetly will return

If your into having a few brews while in town for a few days, stop on buy. Great local beers, along with the usual ones.

I had wanted to check out The Stinking Rose for years – I love the cozy hole-in-the wall vibe it has going on. When I finally got the chance I was surprised by how small it is (there are just a handful of tables and the bar) and by how small their food menu is (mostly wraps and nachos – pub food only but, while I didn’t order any, I have heard good things. I've also heard they do coffee & tea if that's more of your thing). This is definitely the sort of place you go to have a drink and listen to some live music.I came in with a small group on a Sunday afternoon. At first it felt like the bartender wasn't especially impressed to see us but she warmed quickly and was really helpful in answering our questions about the beer menu. The pub only serves Ontario craft beer (including offerings from the local brewery, Church Key) and the bartender was very generous with letting us sample all of the interesting types on tap. The variety is great!I’d be interested in coming back to check out some of the live music or other events supported by the pub. It seems to be a location that is pretty involved in supporting the local community.(Unrelated: Not sure how this place got classified as an attraction here. It would be better filed under restaurant)

Recommended by good friends and very pleased. Facility and service were awesome! Garlic is everywhere on the menu and tastefully added on all items including the martinis. Our wait staff were very attentive and informative. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

In town for a trip and dropped in for a quick beer. This is a tiny pub with 5 bar stools, and about 5 tables. But it's like stopping in at Cheer's. Staff is super friendly, the on tap beers are the Churchkey family of beers and some Canadian standards. We had the nacho's, they have figured out to heat the chips, meat and cheese and let you put your own salsa and sour cream on. A pile of crunchy nacho's not just mush. Bar staff was attentive, good service. We watched other food go out to tables, the wraps looked really good. We will be back!!
