This is the perfect park for a picnic. Wide open spaces, trees, lake. A great piece of countryside in the city. While it can get busy during events (canada day etc) all of the times I have visited I've been one of a handful of people. Used to bring my daughter here for picnics in the grassy areas when she was tiny - she could run for ages and feel like she was free to explore anywhere - yet still look back and see me! perfect for a small toddler!Very accessible, lots of parking...

I have been going to Milne Park for years for picinics, lunches and walks. This is a very peaceful and beautiful park to go for walks and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Recently saw a fox in the morning. Quite often stop by for lunch by the pond.

This park takes nature and plunks it right in the middle of a busy city. Yet you forget that when visiting the park. If you go during the week...very quiet and free admission. If you come on the weekend it is $4 person, $3 seniors with ID and children under 15 free. I like that it is required that dogs must be on a leash or fined. This way the wildlife is protected. You can see squirrels, beavers, deer, fox, coyotes, beautiful birds, raccoons, gophers, and always a surprise visitor. They go about their business, stopping once in a while to see what you are doing... Picnic tables, beach (not for swimming). Just incredible. Great for yourself to have time out or the family. This park also has actual washrooms along with portable ones. Always clean and well maintained by staff during the summer.

Milne Dam Conservation Park is a nice peaceful area to visit. There are no playground equipment. So you can't drink alcohol and you need to bring your own charcoal BBQ because propane isn't allowed. But you can still have a nice picnic and enjoy nature. You never know when a squirrel might stop by for a snack! It does cost $4 per person and $3 senior but it beats Bruce's Mill in Stouffville which costs double that! The park is always clean, friendly helpful staff. The only time I see a mess is when a visitor makes a mess. Park is open all day and is actually free during the week if you are able to cone then...less busy too. So calming. The Rouge River runs through the park and lots of nature pathways to walk, jog or bike on. I really enjoy it. If this kind if thing is for you!
