We visited this museum on our trip around the Niagara peninsula. It is a small museum, but the quality of the exhibits and tour are top- notch. The staff are very knowledgeable and are generous in sharing that knowledge with visitors. A very enjoyable visit.

This museum, beyond the usual local exhibits, has loads of information once you start asking questions. The exhibits are worth a walk-through (about 20-30 minutes), but talking to the staff at the museum opens up an unlimited wealth of knowledge on local history.Anything you wanted to know about Fort Erie, especially the old Bertie Township, is available here. Would be really excited if the information became easier to access (more like a library, or online) as it is fascinating to sift through.

This museum is located in a former church building and seems well cared for by its supporters. For a small town the exhibits are well done and make the most of the area's place in historic events. There is considerable research material for those wanting to look into historic records. A room is set aside for this purpose and the staff was most helpful in securing documents for review.
