The Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum is a small yet very charming building. It's filled with the areas histroy and the people who work/volunteer there are very knowledgeable & stand at the ready to answer any questions you may have, or to simply guide you through the displayed history pieces. It's really great to be able to see how the town once was and how the landscape and buildings have changed over the many years. Be sure to check out the Canadian Veteran's Hall of Valour. To remember men and women war veterans of Canada and the local area. We were told a beautiful story of how a dog made it in the hall of Valour, for saving troops when a hand grenade hand landed near by, the dog retrieved it and ran off as if to be playing fetch. Sadly the dog lost its life but save those men.Outside the Museum there is a labyrinth & Gardens that are worth taking a look. check out the website to see what events are going on and what exhibits are showing.http://www.cpbheritagemuseum.com/ If your interested in history this place is for you, or if your thinking about moving to the area this is worth a look as well, to better know the area your moving too.
