Fantastic Spot to Visit!! Cruise ships don't stop here so you have to make your own arrangements. We booked with Courtney Taylor Tours, and Dave our driver was great. He actually grew up and lives in the area which was cool because he showed us spots on the way (where he goes to church, his kids go to school etc - felt a bit more personal). Blue Hole is a bit off the beaten path near Ochos Rios. Definitely worth the trip! Go early in the morning, as it was getting busier as we were leaving. Our guide was fantastic, took pics for us, and was so good with our kids (one is adventurous and he was energetic and encouraged her to do some great jumps, the other shy and reserved and our guide helped him walk around on the rocks and gently encourage him - by the end our 10 yr old son did a few of the jumps and then wished as we were leaving that he had done more :) Our guide was so much fun but also gave us a show - doing some high dives and amazing twists, turns and somersaults in the air!Bring water shoes, it helps on the rocks, but you can buy some at the entrance if you want.Be sure to tip the guides - they do a great job

We were pointed to the Blue Hole by other reviewers on tripadvisor, and we are definitely glad we chose this as our day trip on our recent cruise stop to Montego Bay. One note is that this is a 2 hour drive from Mo Bay, but only 20 minutes up the hill from the Ochos Rios docks. As soon as we arrived at Blue Hole, we were introduced to Romaine. Our group included my parents, my wife and I and our 12 y/o daughter. We paired up with another couple from our ship and their 12 y/o daughter and headed toward the water. After demonstrating a 25 ft jump into the main hole, Romaine took us up the falls to the highest pool and we worked our way down. At each level Romaine coached the girls on safely jumping into pools and kept us all safe. Romaine was a great tour guide who exudes joy as he guided us through caves, the natural "massage chair" and the rope swings. The water was a perfect refreshing temperature as well, and the jungle surrounding the blue hole is quit beautiful and lush. The best thing about the blue hole is that only smaller vehicles can navigate into the site, so there are no massive buses. And even though many small groups were there, the guides kept us spaced enough apart to avoid being on top of each other. You will need water shoes as some of the rocks are sharp, but surprisingly there is not a lot of moss and footing is pretty good. All of us left the adventure smiling and talking about how great our guide was. Do tip the guides well when you go, and we hope this does not become an official park with big bus parking as it will doom the site.

Deelon was a wonderful guide to the Blue Hole and its amazing waterfalls. He helped me climb up to find the beautiful upper falls and then took my camera to get closer photos (along with many of my wife and I) Then he gave us an incredible exhibition of "falls climbing" and acrobat swinging from ropes over the falls. The unique blue water has to be seen to be believed !

Georgeous and AWESOME! Kids had a blast 10 to 17. They jumped off all the cliffs and so did the parents. Cheap and not commercialized!

This is a true Jamaica experience. Warm refreshing waters in an undeveloped, non commercial setting.

This is our 5th time to Jamaica and our second visit to the Ochos Rios area. We like to avoid the typical tourist traps which is why we've never been to Dunns River Falls. Our driver Chris from Chris Jamaica Tours suggested the Blue Hole and we're glad he did! The roads to get there aren't entirely built which makes it a bit of a longer and bumpier trip and you'll find a lot of tour operators don't go there for that reason (the bumpy roads do a lot of damage to their cars, I would imagine). You do get to drive through some towns up in the mountains and it was nice for our 6 and 8 year old sons to see that apart from the typical beach and resort scenery. Kids are free and adults are $10 USD each. A guide will take you to help navigate the falls. Water shoes and bathing suits are a must! Our boys are swimmers so they loved it but I would not suggest this for kids who aren't comfortable in water. Our guide Riley was excellent. He was friendly and always made sure to stay ahead of our kids and held their hands to get up difficult areas of the falls. He showed us all of the great places we could jumpOff from into the water and the kids had a blast. The water is completely refreshing! You aren't rushed at all during the tour and Riley kept encouraging us to do repeated jumps off of the same falls. There is a Tarzan swing that's pretty fun too. Tip: the guides only earn their $$$ through tips so make sure to take care of them before you leave!

After reviewing places to spend our day in Jamaica we decided on taking a trip with Jamaica Liberty Tours to Blue Hole. WELL WORTH IT!!! Our guide at Blue Hole, Daniel was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, safety conscious, and FUN! Daniel was great guiding us through the beautiful waterfalls. He even took on the task of manning our camera/camcorder allowing us to have no worries and simply enjoy the beautiful scenery and me and my husband to have a wonderful day without the constant thought of "we should get a picture of that" because Daniel took care of it for us. My husband and I had an amazing day and now have a great memory and we have lots of pictures and recordings of it courtesy of Daniel to relive it everyday! We will definitely revisit Blue Hole next time we have to opportunity to go to Jamaica!

We enjoyed are few hours at Blue Hole about 8 miles from Ocho Rios (use cheaper transfers to/from than Juta vans that charged us $70 US total return for four of us, which seemed excessive for short drive). Jumping off falls into ponds below, or off cliffs for more daring like our son, or rope and swinging into and dropping into pond below. Not for older people that do not like jumping in water etc. Guides we had were good and made it safe as possible as well took some pictures with our cameras as we did it.Admission fair $10 us per adult (did not charge our mother anything since she was not being guided or swimming etc. but she got to see some of the activities we did). Lots of fun if you are adventurous and not afraid of water.

We took a cab to get there from the resort because it is a privately owned attraction. It was by far one of the nicest and most fun things I have done on a trip. The water was amazing. The guides were super friendly, made everyone of all skill level feel safe and put on quite the aerial show for us too! This is a must do if you are in the area. Our group of 10 all agreed!

My husband and I have just returned from Jamaica. We had a fabulous day with Dane from Jamaica by Dane. He made our trip to Blue Hole worthwhile! He was very educated on the history and attractions in Jamaica. His knowledge of the area was remarkable! He even stopped for us to take pictures along the way! Before our day was over we felt like we had known him forever. We were able to leave all of our belongings locked in the bus with no worries. Not to mention the fact that his bus was brand new and air conditioned. We felt as if Dane was our personal guide. We felt very safe and secure all day! I will not go back to Jamaica and go anywhere without his guidance! THANKS Jamaica by Dane for making our trip memorable!!

This excursion was the highlight of our day!!!! We hired Tony O'Reilly Tours to take us to Dolphin Cove first then The Blue Hole. The drive to the Blue Hole is hairy but Tony made us feel safe and he kept all of our belongings safe. Ann Marie was our guide and she was awesome! She took my phone on the entire adventure and took pics for us the whole way!!! We climbed falls, jumped off falls, went in caves, jumped off rocks and rope swings. My kids LOVED it! They are 10/12. Annmarie made us feel safe and she was kind and never made us feel rushed. If she is there…ask for her as your guide. She made that whole day for us!!!! A must see!!!!

We were a little skeptical when we got to the Blue Hole. It may have been because we were the first group that day. The spot itself isn't endorsed by the cruise ships which is actually great because it wasn't crowded at all. Ricardo was our guide and he was incredible. He took care of our camera, and took pictures for us along the way. It actually started to rain and Ricardo hid our camera in some rocks while he ran up the entrance to grab a bag to keep them dry. A person we meet later on the ship said he lost his Go Pro when he jumped and his guide dove down and got it for him. Bring some cash to tip your guide when your done and don't forget water shoes. There is a lot of rocks.

Please go visit this area INSTEAD of the tourist swamped Dunn's River Falls before it is discovered and ruined by the masses.

Make sure your driver takes you right to the top where a man with a clip board will take your name and $10. There are people further down who will offer to take you to the 'Blue Hole' but they will take you elsewhere. I was told people are digging other blue holes nearby to capitalise on the original. You really need a guide to show you the place, as there are lots of places for jumping and diving which is great fun, but only a guide will know where its safe to do so.
