This fort is pretty broken down and only has a portion that is still standing. It does provide a nice view of St. George's when you reach the top. You can get a guided tour by a local guide but I am not sure what kind of information is provided or the length of the tour (we just walked alone without a fee for a tour). The walk up is pretty steep but good exercise.

Some good views but Fort Frederick is better. The overall condition is very shabby and in a poor stte.e

This is a very old and historic site too bad no one knows. The views over the harbor are wonderful and the cannon sites let you know they could blow the invaders out of the water sounds like a fun place right but noooo they are still using parts of it for police and other places they tried to modernize it,door frames redone to accommodate a new house hold metal door, waterlines running all willy nilly all over the place the same with the hydro lines, new sections of buildings have been added and built to look like new construction. Some of the old shutters are being held closed with short lengths of electrical wire.....14-2 I think. Too Bad

It is worth the hike to the top, just to see the 360 degree views. We could look down on Port Louis, where the Island Windjammer boat was docked (if you want a fabulous small sail boat experience, check them out, our trip was fantastic).

We took a half day trip from Sandals Grenada visiting this fort & had a local, very informative guide taking us around. Apart from the history re the revolution & the shooting of the rebels, it is also a very scenic high point from which to see the surrounding countryside & town of St Georges.

we took a stroll through this fort, without actually going in. lovely to see views from the location, and enjoyed what we could from the perimeter!

A large fort high on hill over looking St Georges Bay and harbor side. Worth the climb / long walk up just for the view. Not much to see, a few cannons and battlements but also government offices and a gym in a big room seemed strange. A focal point in Grenada history right up to the revolution in the 1980's where the ring leaders were actual shot, being lined up against a wall of the fort!

If you are in St George's you should go up to the fort because of the views of the town and it's surroundings. It costs about £2 each but just do it. If you have looked at the history of the island then you will be intrigued by the bullet holes in the basketball pole and the plaque to those that were killed there only thirty years ago.

Visited this fort in January, 2015. A decent climb, but worth it for the views. The history of the fort is quite interesting, both the early history and the more recent. We had a guided tour by a lovely lady who know the place very well and could answer any and all questions we asked. The fee for the tour is what ever you would like to pay her at the end...we felt it was well worth $5 US from each of us.

During my holiday in Grenada, I organised an island tour with one of the local taxi drivers, visiting Fort George was a must, great view from the highest point on the island, looked over to the Caribbean Sea on one side & the Atlantic Ocean on the other, well worth a visit while on holiday in Grenada

A hard walk up to the fort but well worth it for the views of St Georges and surrounding areas. Interesting historically but best using the guides as no information posted up around the place. Keep hold of children and people who wander as some unsafe areas not fenced off as they would be in England! Well worth the visit though!

A fairly basic fort which affords some great views over the town. However if with a guide you can get some detail of the fairly recent battles and executions it becomes well worthwhile. The modern bullet holes add much.

The fort, which was built in the 1700s, is now a major centre for the Royal Grenada Police who are putting it to good use after the destruction(s) of the capital by the hurricanes of 10 years ago. Despite being a working police station it's still open to the public and is a fascinating glimpse of both historical record and more recently the assassination of Maurice Bishop and others in the central yard.

Since the attraction was close to our cruise, we made the steep walk up the hill and paid the entry fee. It was really HOT out so we took a couple of pictures of the view and our cruise ship. The pictures were nice but I wouldn't miss it if we didn't go. I'd spend more time at the beach.

A bit of history - same as the forts all across the Caribbean -but the views are amazing. It's only cheap so pop in when you can.
