We didn’t make it to Scrub Island on our first trip so it was at the very top of our to-do list on this trip. We’ve heard so many great things about Scrub and were excited to get there. Everyone talks about how great it is to explore or to have a romantic picnic and how you’ll be the only people on the entire island since it’s uninhabited. I found a guy named “Junior” (264) 235-1008 who takes people out there from Shoal Bay but we still didn’t make it. Junior said the waters were too rough to make it to Scrub…we were bummed. There’s a small channel they have to pass through before landing on the beach and the waters were too rough and dangerous. Junior said he had people on standby for a month trying to make it out there. March is a windy month so you may have better luck if you visit at a different time. You’ll definitely want to call Junior when you first get to Anguilla and schedule the trip or you may miss out. Oh well, another reason to go back!

We took a boat out to Scrub Island by a very friendly guy named Junior. He's based out of Shoal Bay and he always anchors his boat in front of the Elodias. We met him on our last trip to Anguilla and he has become a very good friend. Scrub Island has a beautiful beach. You can often see leatherback turtle tracks heading up the beach to where they sleep at night. The island has history and you will find a few buildings that were started and never finished. It's a very peaceful place to hang out for a few hours but there are no bathrooms or food, it's all natural :)

We road a little boat to Scrub Island (like the type of boat in Life of Pi) which had me eyeing up the closest life preserver - but once we arrived, I was so glad we took the trip! My husband and I had the beach to ourselves. We packed a lunch, relaxed, and had the most amazing experience!
